There's no crying in baseball... yeah, right!

Read in a book once about the two biggest lies in baseball...

A dad is throwing first B.P. to his young son...

    Lie #1 "I won't hit you".

    Lie#2 "If I do, it won't hurt".

That is the cause of 99.9% of the fights at the ballfield. Most thought it was the bad calls. No it is becuase Braves ate everything and emptied the cooler.

    Best Advice........

The best advice as a player that I could have ever received with my natural born baseball ability was best summed up by good friend Hugh McBride, when he said, "take 2 weeks off and then quit."

Anything Coach 27 gives you as advice, pay attention to. He knows baseball, he knows players, and he knows people.

As for GMan13 and "keep your eye on the ball" well truer words have never been spoken, but whoever came up with the advice, "heads up" should be shot, it should have been "heads down"

I heard something the other day that brought back memories. I heard that Dustin Pedrosia has adopted the same attitude. I had a coach explain this to me when I was young and wore it on my sleeve ever since. I never, ever, ever gave a pitcher any respect. He could have been Nolan Ryan working on a no hitter, but to me..."he ain't got crap!" I never had a pitcher intimidate me...and I never met one I thought I wouldn't go deep. To me they were all "turkeys". That's right. That's what I called them.....TURKEY'S!!!!

They still can't get me out.....unless they are throwing a fastball or a crooked pitch.

    Now I feel old!- Turkeys?
    Gee, thanks Braves.

Heres one: Your son is on the mound, struggling with the strike zone at times.... Next thing you hear is an ignorant parent/fan hollaring in his best red-neck voice... "Come on, THROW STRIKES!"

I am sure we all realize that johhny is on the hill just to throw balls off the plate.

It's the same person that yells, "Good eye" to the hitter while he watches a 15' High FB that the catchers climbs a step ladder to catch.
