    If Hanna will stay away the following teams will be playing at Historic Municipal Stadium in Tarboro in a round robin tournament this weekend.

    Edenton Redwolves
    Carolina Thunder
    Triple Crown Baseball
    Cary Academy Chargers
    Duplin County Legion

    The recently formed Carolina 16u Lake Monsters have been invited as well but they have yet to get some practice time in so we shall see if they are ready to rumble yet!!

    This looks to be a very solid group of guys being put together. We had 35 show up from Wake Co, Durham Co., Johnston Co, Nash Co., Franklin Co., Granville Co., Vance Co. and Warren Co. (I was dissappointed that not 1 player from Webb tried out) I'm working on it as we speak, but it may be too soon. This group will be off to a better start than the now 17's. Thanks to everyone who came to JF Webb on Sat., and everyone that passed on info about this, and thanks to TBR, because our teams would not be w/o this.

    Tarboro Tournament

    Would any of these teams be interested in a wood bat tournament in the Concord area for September 20 - 21? If so, please contact Bill Capps at (704) 847-5075 or (704) 621-0940 (C). Ages are 16 - 18. It is a showcase tournament and should be attended by college coaches. This is a first year tournament which will grow into something much bigger and stronger next year.

    You can also contact David Large at (980) 328-0821. If you are looking for a tournament for the future, this is where you will want to start.

    9 am Carolina Blaze vs West Wake Wildcats .....Wildcats 7 Blaze 3

    1130 Carolina Lake Monsters vs Team Tarboro.....Tarboro 4 Monsters 3

    2 pm Consolation game L1 vs L2........Monsters 14 Blaze 4

    430 Championship game W1 vs W2....Tarboro 9 Wildcats 8

    A fun day for everyone after Hanna made us all stay home on Saturday. Thanks to the teams for playing at the last minute.

    The Stadium is a great place to play baseball games and the hosts did a great job to get the field dry for Sunday.

    Nice little ballpark there in Tarboro...hard to believe with those dimensions I only saw one ball leave the yard. Hopefully that was due to the pitching ! Fun day ...

    I was wondering how many HR's were hit yesterday. It's a good thing Kevin got one...after going o-fer in the first game it was looking like a pretty long ride back home.
