    I would think you could train and go ahead and get your feet wet with the college academic side.

    congrats. i just don't think i could ever pass up my senior season with the guys i grew up playin ball with and a shot at being drafter out of high school to rush into the next phase of my life.

    Hanover transferred in to Coach Meadows program for his senior year.

    He'll be playing this spring

    no different then a freshman football player. there's plenty of them playing right now. also players of any other fall/winter sport that starts before the second semester.

    Again what did he get? I think they (ND) would have been just as good last year without the transfer. What is he going to have this year? Loss of a (two) key players (LM & TH), Loss of key pitching. Remember the comment from last season about playing players (in games that were won or would have won with key starters sitting to get other players ready for their chance in the big games. I think you may see the fruit of that thought process.

    new deal?

    I can see this as precedent setting in terms of the best blue chip ballplayers for the future. Get them in your program w/o the possibility of the MLB draft gobbling them up just before they were to enroll in the fall of freshman year.

    New recruiting strategy. Thinking outside the box. But sad for the HS coaches.

    Comparing going to college before Spring semester for football is totally different than baseball..
