I over reacted to your post and interpreted it wrong. My mistake. Maybe, I should just stick to posting photos only.

I have to give props to Ray Chandler/Carolina Cardinals. His teams have put many girls in front of the college coaches that eventually signed them. Most of the ladies who have played for him remain loyal long after they leave. He has given more to fastpitch softball in this state than he has ever taken.I just think a thread about the best coaches in the state has to have him in it.

I've been trying hard to avoid posting a response to this thread. But, I just couldn't help myself. At the end of my DD's high school and TB career this past summer, she made this remark.
" I have three goals in life:
    1) Coach High school softball at Ledford High.
    2) Coach against Coach Gene Poindexter.
    and
    3) Coach against Alvin Hogan and the Randolph Rage ( learned more with Alvin than any coach ever played for.) "

I guess this sums up how much these two gentlemen meant to my DD.

I'm with Panther on this one. Tried to avoid posting but it just draws me in so here's my two cents worth (if it's worth that much).
I think you have to break this down to what coachs do what best. I have seen great practice coaches do horrible on game day and vise-versa. Have seen great coaches with great kids fail to meet expectations and i've seen coaches who don't say much but speak volumes. So here's my breakdown.

Practice coaches: Mike Lambros and Richard Fulton Lambros is about a brillant of a softball mind and a generally good person as exists in NC. Seen my kids just watch his kids practice and learn alot. Plus you can't practice and teach that many kids without being good at it. As for Richard all i can say is that if you've played for him you know what i'm talking about.

Game time coaches: Charlie Blackwelder and Monte Sherrill: Don't always agree with how Coach S handles situations but you can't argue w/ the state championships. As for Charlie, just recently have met him and talked to him face to face. For years w/ the NC Rockers we had run in after run in w/ the Cobras. Started out hating them which evolved into a grudging respect, which evolved into a acknowledgement to the way they always seemed to bring out the best of our girls and then still whip us lol. Charlie was alot of the reason.

Motivational coaches: Fran Childress and Ric McHone Don't know how they do it. Have watched both many times and still can't figure out how they get the absolute best out of the kids they have every game (almost lol). A true testament to what kind of people they both are.

Next level coaches (getting our kids in college): Ray Chandler, Rodney Threatt, and Danny Childress. Ray is the Godfather of NC fastpitch. He and Sharon have sacrificed more than anyone will ever know and NC fastpitch is what it is thanks to Ray Chandler. As a conference rival and a team that has never really been a threat to Reagan he always took an extra few minutes, either before or after EVERY game, to talk to my 2 DDs by themselves and encouraged them. Rodney probably works harder for his kids than anyone i've seen. I've seen the time he puts in to get your DD's in college. From the individual showcases to the travel, travel, travel, travel,to the endless emails LOL. And Danny is Danny, Had a college coach tell me he was the best bulls**** in the game. Enough said.

Keep an eye out for up and comers Crystal Cox and Ronnie Plemmons. Crystal has translated what she's learned to teaching very well, and Ronnie (even though not as young as Crystal) will be heard from for years to come.
Regardless of who you think is the best thank them all for they all put in countless hours of unpaid time to help my and your kids realize their dreams.

.... really nailed it good on his post. There is a difference in coaching TB & HS ball. TB you're having to deal with that time factor vs HS you have 7 inns to fall back on. TB you have to manufacture runs quickly, HS you can hope for that long ball.
