    Just wondering

Looks like a good start. Wonder if the will have to drop their present showcase teams to play with the school as part of the program? I could see it being required.

I doubt they will be asked to drop off their showcase teams however due to an injury a kid was asked to stop playing AAU/USSSA for the time being.

I just did not know to what extent was the athletic commitment to the school. Since sports are a major driving force. I would have thought that the school would want to have the kids in the program 100%. I am sure that it is important for the school to have (for lack of a better word) credit for any college rides in sports. That is what they are there for. Correct.

    Yes really

The quote below is from their own website page (Home section). I am not saying that this will happen. But, If you opened a school and one of your sponsors was a major sports company. We know that they want some kind of return. It will be their choice. Just my two cents.

Bottom line: athletes have influence. VSA will be placing high-level athletes in Division I, II, and III level university programs. These young men will be equipped to make a difference on those campuses as model leaders inside and outside the classroom and the game. Most of these young men would never have such an opportunity without VSA. Veritas is convinced that you can still take a young teen from any setting and surround him with discipline, integrity, and truth, and make a difference in his life forever. That is the mission. Never forget, it is easier to build boys than to mend men.

Perhaps basketball, but I would have a hard time believing they could build a powerhouse in any other sport as an independent school. If they don't play public schools they will never be considered as high-level athletes.....it took years of Charlotte Christian winning back to back to back to back to back State Championship's and playing outstanding teams in Florida and Easter tournaments before they were relunctantly given any respect. They deserved the respect, but it was hard for them to obtain it.

The bottom line is if you don't play public schools (outside of basketball), you will never be considered a powerhouse
