How important do you think speed and agility training is?
What amount of time is appropriated for speed and agility training in your HS and/or TB programs?
Does anyone have expertise in those areas in your HS or TB program that you use?
How soon in the pre-season do you start that training?

    Okay---

    1) Everything if you want to win,and be competitive !!

    2) Should be at least 50-75%

    3) Can't teach speed , but you can increase it. Speed is a natural GOD given talent !!

    4) All year round if possible, never too early to stay in shape !!

It can make a lot of difference but takes even more dedication.

Three things I have found from our experience...

    1) distance running will increase your sprint speed

    2) Jump rope will also greatly help with fast twitch muscle fiber and being on your "toes".

    3) The only real way to drastically increase your H to 1st time is to measure the number of strides it takes you to get there. Make it your goal to reduce that by 2 or 3 strides in the span of 3 to 6 months. The longer the stride
, the more ground you cover and the faster you are out of the box.

    Correct

Charlotte has a location somewhere around Pineville area. I have seen the sign off Interstate 485. Good location and they know how to improve. I think agility and quick first step can be more important than speed at times since speed, true speed is hard to find. Good luck!

    ANY training...

...of any player, be it softball, baseball, soccer, wrestling, etc. MUST be done in the RIGHT way.
SBallPhreaks thread is a good start for getting kids in bigtime shape.
I wish I had a magic ball that I could look into, and give the appropriate training regimen for every kid in every sport. But obviously, I don't, and nor does anyone else.
Coaches, trainers are smart enough to not use a cookie cutter approach in developing athletes.
IMO, it might be a good idea for parents to be active in the first bit of time that their kid is in the "hands" of a professional trainer/coach, so that they, the parents can be informed of the workout schedule, and help monitor how their kids body is reacting to the program.
Also, if you're happy with "the program", then stay in it for the duration.
its kinda like getting braces on your kids teeth, if the program is done right, your kid will be smiling.:bucktooth::smiley2:
