    Amen to that coach

That was by far the worst performance by the canes this entire season.

The only thing that surprises me is the Canes scores. I've heard about this Bulldog team but have not seen them play yet. On any given day this can happen. You stil have some teams that are better however the talent in showcase continues to get more and more spread out as more teams start up.

The Bulldogs were certainly competitive, although I think they were for the most part an older group of players. In all fairness to the Canes, in game 1 they went up against a couple studs ( hired guns perhaps, don't know...certainly not 16u ), and had to play game 2 immediately after ... where a couple young pitchers for the Wildcats really dominated them.

Grayben....I can't wait till the Master. I truly had forgotten about it but not now. I'm sure there will be plenty of time for you to pay up once the Bulldogs get started in the spring. But if you would like to pay up after football season I have no objections. Coach Q and myself are really ready to do some eating!!

This happens. Teams bring in these hired guns or drop players down from older teams.

I remember last year when the Heat '011 beat the Dirtbag '011 team in some Impact 15U World Series. And that was with Tate Parrish dropping down to throw for 011 DB's. Man, the next time the Heat 011 saw the DB's they faced the 09 DB's and the 010 DB's and faced a quality pitcher from the DB's that was two years older and immediately following they faced the 010 DB's. No way Andy was going to let that happen again. Andy must have liked what he saw. Many of those Heat 011's have joined Andy. Some very talented kids in that group. Personally I think it was probably good for the 011 kids to face better competition. My son learned a lot when he was 17 and faced Tyler Pilkington the first time and with a wooden bat to boot. Whoa.

The good news is more kids are developing their games and then showing well in showcase and other venues.

I can assure you that the Wilson Bulldogs have no hired guns. They usually are lucky to have enough to play. They had played the day before at the USA Complex and thrown probably their best pitcher. On Sunday they threw Michael McLawhorn from Wilson Fike. He may have thrown 20 innings for Fike last season. The second game they threw Mitchell Wheeler , also from Fike who I'm not sure pitched at all last year, and Zack Bissette from Wilson Christian. Zack doesn't pitch at all that I know of. Their catcher is Thomas Berry from Rocky Mount. They have Michael Whitehead(MIF) from Rocky Mount, A MIF from Kinston and a couple of other kids. No hired guns, but they come to play.

    Who let the Dawgs out?

Totally agree SoutherNo1. The Bulldogs are a team with big heart kids and a coach that wants to give any and all kids a chance. They also have to pass the hat around each week to pay the team bills. Coach Ty will play any where, any place, any time at the drop of a hat. My kind of guy!!!

Thanks Wade Dog. I think I heard his nickname, "Pookie", but didn't hear his real name.
