Based on what I am reading, will the minimum 4 wins get you into the playoffs this year?

    Right now these are IN

    ACR
    EB
    Watauga

    4 wins so far

    SC
    McDowell

    2 wins (3 to play)

    AC

    1 win

    Freedom

Ok, Assuming AC wins out, they get to 5-7 Id say they are in.

If they lose to freedom, and win McD and SC, does 4 wins get them in.

Do SC and McDowell have to win at least 1 more to get in with 5 wins?

If they all get 4, do they all make it?

i think mcdowell well have to win one maybe two more to get in,coach snow 2nd year we won four games and did not get in,i think when you have not been in the playoffs for a while you have to win six games to get,but i could be wrong.

Courage is FEAR, that said it's PRAYERS.
I would be shocked if a 4 win team (that didn't finish in the top 3 in their conference) made it this year. Too many teams going to have at least 5 wins.

If the standings on ReynoldsRocks website are indeed accurate, there are already 69 schools with the 4-win requirement. There are also a total of 10 additional teams with 3 wins at this time. Let's say only half those get one more win, you are talking 74 eligable spots in a 64 team bracket (both 4A and 4AA). So McDowell and South Caldwell picking up an additional win would be really nice to have.

FYI: There's a higher number of East Region Teams already eligable than West Region.

So, would it be possible that a 5 win team did not make it?

looking back over the schedule, the winner of the McDowell/AC game theoretically will be the last team to make the playoffs (Assuming AC wins this week)

I gotta believe if you have 5 wins then you are win, of course I may be wrong. I was looking at a mock bracket on another message board and for example they projected McDowell to get another win this season and finish with a 5-5 record, in this mock bracket the Titans were placed as a 15-seed. But, that said the same bracket had a 6-4 team placed as high as an 8-seed. So it would look like the difference in terms of your seeding between could be significant in a difference of only two games.

    PLAYOFF BERTHS/QUALIFICATION (2A-3A-4A):
    1. A team must finish 1st, 2nd or 3rd in the conference to qualify. In a split conference a
team must finish 1st or 2nd in their division, OR
    2. A team must have 4 wins overall if they do not finish 1st, 2nd or 3rd in conference play
(1st or 2nd in split conferences) OR
    3. If not enough teams qualify using the criteria in #1 and #2 above, we would take the
teams with the highest conference winning percentage next (split conferences use all
    conference games), OR
    4. If too many teams qualify using the criteria in #1 and #2 above, we would use the
number of conference wins to determine the qualifiers.

    5. All classifications will field a full complement of 64 teams, 32 in each sub-division.
    There will be no byes.
    6. If ties exist at any level the tie(s) will be broken by a draw
    SEEDING
    a. seed all #1s by overall records – ties will be broken by a draw. Conference champions
tied for first will be seeded as number ones if they are going into different subdivisions
    (A or AA).
    b. if school finishes first in its part of a classification in a split conference, it is seeded as a
number one and not actually where it finished overall in the conference.
    c. seed all #2s by overall records – ties will be broken by a draw
    d. seed all #3s by overall records – ties will be broken by a draw
    e. seed all other qualifying teams (those with four or more wins) based only on their
overall won/loss record, regardless of conference finish

So it looks like now that

    IN

    ACR
    EB
    Watauga
    SC

If McDowell beats AC, they are in.

based on the above website, no matter their finish, AC won't make it (only a 3% chance)
