It's getting that time of year where the Class of 2009 begin making their verbal commitment or sign their Letter of Intent. Feel free to post updates on the local talent as their senior year is getting ready to start over the next few weeks...

BREAKING NEWS: Those in the Northwestern 4A may find this of interest. I have been given a heads-up by a couple sources that we may get an announcement soon on where Freedom guard Ali Ford may end up going. My sources are saying to expect a commitment before the season starts.

    Danaira Erwin Spencer

Danaira Erwin Spencer, East Mecklenburg basketball: The 5-foot-4 senior point guard has verbally committed to Radford. She chose Radford over George Washington and George Mason. Spencer averaged 15 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.5 assists last season. With more than 1,200 points, she is her school's all-time leading scorer.

Dont watch much basketball but have heard enough about Ali Ford to know she is a good one. Congrats to her. Sounds like Charlotte has alot of talents I would like to see them play. Are there any girls around here that have signed scholoarships with big schools.

Although I am happy for Ali I am shocked that she will not end up at a big basketball school, because she is such a good player. I looked at the Elon site and they lost 20 games last year. Look for that to turn around quickly with Ali there. And, I hope everyone else sees what they missed out on.
