The 2008 PG WWBA World Championship begins tomorrow down in Jupiter with many teams from our area taking part. Here is a link to a story on the tournament from PG's website that I think answers any questions as to whether or not this is THE tournament to play in:

    http://www.pgcrosschecker.com/showcase/2008/events/jupiter_preview.aspx

Teams from our region competing are:

    2009 On Deck O's
    Diamond Devil's 18's
    Dirtbags
    Hurricanes Baseball '09
    South Charlotte Panthers 2009

Good luck to all and pls post scores details if you can.

    My three initial thoughts:

    - I am so glad that they have kept this tournament to the 80 team selection. This is one tournament that is exclusive to all others. And the teams participating should feel honored to be invited

    - Those who have not attended will never understand the scope and importance of this event. To think that some ML teams send their whole scouting system to these games (20+) and the event will feature 700-800 scouts under one umbrella is mind blowing

    - For the first time ever, I was not invited to attend by a team. I must have upset some people somehow.

    Early games today

Dirtbags tie a very talented NJ Twins team 1-1 this morning and the Hurricanes lose a tough one 4-3...

    Shocking?

On Deck loses 1-0 so North Carolina is having a bad hair day.
