Laura Barrett commits to Meredith College

    Foothills HEAT and West Lincoln catcher/outfielder, Laura Barrett, has verbally committed to Coach Robert Luckadoo and the Meredith College Avenging Angels.

    LB is a founding member of the HEAT, and has participated in all 113 games over 2 years. She is the consummate team player, always giving 100%, and supporting her teammates and coaches in every way! This is a perfect fit both academically and athletically, and we are very proud of Laura's accomplishments. I know Mom and Dad are beaming!!!!!

    Great kid....Fine,fine young lady. Character, poise, intelligence, and a strong work ethic! A coach's dream!

    Meredith is fortunate to have LB on their roster and on their campus!!

    Yea

    Nice job to player and team! I know the Heat coaches work hard for their kids and are loyal as they come! Meredith is getting some good players and will provide an awesome education for those kids future.

    Congratulations Laura, and to your mom and dad as well !! I was Laura's first coach and I knew from the very first game she ever played for me that she would be playing at the next level.

    The Campbell family, Scott, Leighann, Lauren, Hunter, and our newest member Jake.


    PS: I dug up this picture from many moons ago. LB is on the second row third from the right (look at all that hair). Sorry about the quality of the picture, its old.

    Smiling til it hurts......ouch, ok that's enough...ha. Thanks for the kind words Marty, and for your time and efforts helping coach LB, she (and we) think very highly of you. Your encouraging and positive attitude has always been an asset to the team. Yea, we're very proud of her, but I also know that "bittersweet" time is approaching quickly.......college??? But it went by so doggone fast...ha.

    Yep, it sure is SIFan, and thanks for the congrats. She's really excited about it. I don't think she was sure that she'd get to play ball in college, knowing how many great players there are out there, but then again she worries every season if she's even going to "make the team". Everyone including us think it's funny but I do like the humble attitude of taking nothing for granted. We'll be seeing you before too long when it's WL vs SI softball time....ha. Should be some good games, good luck to your daughter and her team. If you guys have gotten any better than last year, then we might be in trouble...lol.
