I Need Your Help- Wingate University

As many of you know, Wingate is my new adopted college team. After spending just a few minutes with Head Coach Allen Osborne, you can quickly determine this coach is serious about his business and committed to his program. The improvements he has made on and off his field, from uniforms to talent level is obvious, but his future envisions are ambitious and attainable. They are at the start of building a beautiful Sports Center consisting of offices and locker rooms and they need some help. I bragged to Coach Osborne about our TBR members and how great they are in supporting a good cause. So, I'm appealing to my friends on TBR to help out in this. For those that play golf (even those that don't--like me), I'd love for you guys/gals to accept this challenge. It will be a great day of fellowship and if you never have met the coaches at Wingate, then you are in for a huge treat.

Unlike the big boys such as UNC, NC State, ECU, etc., many of the the other schools in NC (schools that recruit much of our "home grown" talent!) can use financial help.
It would be great if every school had one, or more, "sugar daddies" to fill all the gaps dollar wise in each program. But that just doesn't happen. I have heard that Ty Wigginton makes a substantial contribution to his alma mater, UNC-A, that keeps the athletic dept. out of the red. Ty doesn't make "A-Rod" money and even though, he still gives back to where he came from.
If everyone who loves high school and college baseball in this state would contribute $25 to $50 each year to maybe two or three of the college programs that fall into the "not big boy" category it would benefit all the players now and into the future. Isn't that what we all want?

 

Outstanding point!!! Unfortunately, there are no sugar daddy's at Wingate. Although there might be some Sugar Mommies, because there sure are some beautiful one's, I haven't heard about them yet.

I figure since I don't make any money on this site that my only perk I have is to push the awareness of the school(s) I support. So bear with me when I do that. But usually when I give a specific school some attention, they have helped us at TBR in some way

 

Braves, I think it's great for you to give Wingate a boost here, I'm all for it!

I do believe that there are a lot of folks that check out TBR, especially this time of year, that are from all over the state. Many never post but maybe they would be supportive of the college programs if given a little push to do so.

 

Thanks Gman. I'm a big supporter of UNC-A and Coach Stewart, as well. And you are right. The State schools get plenty of support and I would sure like to shine the light on others.

By the way, I found this out recently. TBR gets 10 million hits a month. That's a lot for a site that does no advertising and is strictly word of mouth

If you're buying a round, you guys can make fun of me all you want in Wingate's thread. But if you're not, I would prefer to focus on raising some awareness and money to help those fine folks out.

So now I expect a $100 donation from PlateDad and Stretchy. Coach Osborne appreciates it and I thank you, too

By the way, Stretchy. I was undefeated. And the one game that was questionable, I ran out of time
