The 2nd annual event this year has taken on a new format. Double the fun. The games will be held at East Carolina University on Sunday Nov 9th. This year there is going to be a 2009 NC team vs a 2009 Virginia team as well as a 2010 game. First pitch is at 11:05 that day. For more info check out www.impactbaseball.com

Last year it was a great event BUT this year it should really be spectacular!!

Is this invitational only? If so, will they be inviting the veritas kids?

Yes, it is an invitational. Last year's event was one of the heaviest recruited events I have seen. You name the school and HC in our region and he was there. Quite a few pro guys were there, also.

Stretchy- will you be televising this event again?

Do they pick the players for this tournament from impact only or from showcase tournaments?

I believe they are selected by how Impact rates the players. I would say, last year, less than half of the players selected were from the Dirtbags. AP wants the best players possible. He doesn't care where they come from and who they played for.

    Rosters

The 2010 rosters are up for both NC and VA on the Impact site. The 2009 rosters should be out tomorrow. This is going to be a fun event with a ridiculous amount of college coaches present. And I am sure there will be many professional scouts present as well. Im going with a NC sweep. But hey I am biased.

    Congrats

to all the 2010 players selected to play in this event. I also want to say I got my first look at Cal Hardee this weekend at the Impact Showcase in Cary. Wow!! I had no idea who he was when I was evaluating and gunning the infielders. As soon as he took that first ground ball I was like "Coach , Coach , who is that kid right there?" Oh , thats Cal Hardee Coach Hardee's son. Needless to say I had to make sure I got to see him over the next two days as much as I could. That kid can flat out play the game. I look forward to seeing this young man represent NC next weekend at ECU.

I'm glad you got a chance to witness what I did all of last year. Cal Hardee is a player. They have quite a few of them they are growing up there in Boone. They may not all be Cal Hardee's, but they are very, very good.

Last year's event was outstanding, but I expect this year's will be even better...especially with the Va. group coming in.

Where you go to school doesn't matter.
