There needs to be something done to this play-off system, as well as the seeding process. There were alot of theams shafted by this seeding system there were teams that were granted automatic #2 berths and seeded as low as #14 with a 6-4 record and ther #8 vs #9 game in the same bracket is a 6-4 team who finished 5th in there conference playing a 4-6 team seeded #9 who also finished 5th. Were is the justice in this system???? NCHSAA is a JOKE!!!!! They are all about $$$$$$$$$$ That is all they care about.

I agree, they need to quit allowing 4 win teams to be playoff eligible, but they way the system is set up and the way conferences are aligned, a 4 win team could make it every year if they win all 4 of those games in conference only. the Split conference makes it that much more difficult.

I say allow 2 playoff spots per conference (automatic) (split conference would get 3) then a team must have a minimum 5 wins (3 in conference) to qualify.

That may not even work, but this 4 win BS is exactly that, BS.....this system only makes money for the NCHSAA and not really the school since i think NCHSAA keeps $3 of every ticket sold in the playoffs.....correct?

    somewhat simple!

Back up to the old 48 team scenario and only conference winners PERIOD get the automatic births and from there the rest are based on winnng records! :feedback:

Move up to a 5A classification, which would be about 75 teams per, then 32 team play off, 16 west 16 east.

    2 Win Teams

I saw teams with just 2 wins in the playoffs. That is stupid I don't care how they finished in conference. If they don't finish at least .500 they have no business in the playoffs. Look at all of the gas money wasted by some of these teams who had to travel just to get stomped.

    playoff system

I agree that the system leaves a little to be desired. If you want complain, go to your head coach. The football coaches association is the one that voted to go to this system. As for the money... The way I was told by our AD, is the nchsaa gets 15 percent off the top plus then $1 of each ticket sold goes to the endowment. The rest is used to pay officials and the remainder is divided equally between the two schools.

The way I look at it is that more kids get to play one more game. Unlike baseball and basketball where the kids get to play 20+ games foootball only gets about half that. I like the fact that this lets a few more guys get one more chance out on the field after all the time they put in at practice

While a somewhat valid excuse, that is just the easy way out...."Oh the kids get to play more"....here's a thought, MAN UP and bust your ass for the 10 games that you are guaranteed! and then walk off the field knowing you have your BEST.

The NCHSAA playoffs are not about the kids at all, they are about the $$$$$$

It is funny that the biggest HS sport in the state is Football, yet Basketball is king at the college level.

It's possible but if they do the teams would be really spread out. Some in Charlotte, some in Raleigh, and that's about it. Most of the schools in the triad area have enrollments at either 3A or small 4A. It's been talked about for years but I'm not sure if it's gonna happen soon.
