In the Charlotte Observer, there was an article about how a parent went the "Extra Yard" go to get their kid on a team. It got me thinking "How far will parents go to get their kid on a powerhouse team?" CMS is committed to keeping the playing field level but what about loopholes that parents are finding? What about the other kids on that team or the team he /she left?

I did not read the article. BUT was the kid the passenger or the driver in that journey?

I read the article and it was very interesting. I think the Keiths are doing what every parent would do and that is to look out for the best interest of our child. What they did is no different than a parent putting their kid in a school for academics, or other special arts programs. The major difference between the Keiths and most of us is that they have the monetary means do do things. If a kid is good you would think that the other parents and kids would welcome the competition because it would make them and the team better. I don't know the Keith kid but he is the quarterback that has led South Mecklenburg to a place in the playoffs that they haven't been in a long time.
