I am counting down the days Frank

You got until Thursday morning good buddy, otherwise there will no turning back after I eat an entire Turkey all by myself.

Will this program help an old umpire keep up with these young showcase studs?

I'm certainly not an expert, but

I spoke with Frank today for about an hour. The program he is talking about was developed by a track coach in California. He was trying to increase strength with minimal or no weight gain. You lift heavy loads with few reps and 5 minutes of rest between 2 - 3 sets. This will make you faster. This is modeled after the Russian weight lifting programs. You also mix in plyos and core work. I stumbled onto this concept on the web and had a friend review it. My friend is a former Florida State, Virginia Tech and Western Carolina stength coach and he thought it was a great program. The best part is that you can do this virtually year round even during the season. My son has been using this regimen off and on for a couple of years. He has only recently begun to push the limits of what he can do and so far it has worked out great. There is a lot of science behind this concept. It does not appear to me that Frank is a shyster or a spammer. He may want to make some money but who cares if this will benefit our kids. If anyone wants additional info please email me at [email protected]. I don't want to steal Frank's thunder so I will not discuss the other particulars of the program because he and those who are working with him have made some changes to the program my son has used.

Thanks BaseballBuzz. I've made sure I have said that he is an honorable man in nearly every post. But keep in mind, I can not allow TBR to become a place for everyone to post their services or we will never have any topics to discuss because we will be flooded with them. There has to be some control and most people respect that.

I received a PM from someone that was angry that I placed a "sticky" on some camps/showcases, but not on theirs. I told them it was an easy decision to make. The one's that were placed with a sticky were courteous enough to ask if they could post. So those were the one's I decided to stick.

I also told him, instead of getting angry at me, he should be thankful that I allowed him to post it at all. It's amazin' sometimes the PM's I receive.

As far as posting advertisements, I don't mind helping our members when we can if it is helping others. But what I look for, is it a member that gives back by being involved with discussions?...or someone whose only purpose is to advertise their product.....Big, Big difference.

I hope everybody understands. It has not been a real problem as it has been on the softball forum, and I hope it will not become one.

Braves, I understand completely. I would not want to see this board become a venue for one advertisement after another. I just wanted to be sure folks know that Frank is a real person, is really involved in the baseball community, and is not here just to self-promote. Admittedly, I don't know him well, and I guess I could be wrong, but let's give him a chance to explain himself. From what I have seen, he's a very enthusiastic person, a very straightforward man, and I think he just got a little carried away with "marketing" this workout program. After reading this I hope he will soft pedal a little on the hard-sell and explain what he's been talking about.

As far as the PMs you receive - I can only imagine. Too many people hide behind the anonymity of a message board and say things they would never have the nerve to say in person. I just try not to say anything on a message board or in a PM or email that I would not say to someone's face. I find if I stick with that policy I usually keep from saying stuff that I would later regret.

Just Returned and Appologize for any delay

    Everyone,

Thanks for the interest and concern for providing honest and appropriate information. The power and speed program that we are developing is so exciting for us and I just wanted to share it with this board because I thought it would be a great way to let others know what we are doing. We are still developing it, we are still tweaking it, and I would love to answer every question that comes up. So I provide you with the link today. It is www.performproto.com. You will see the results we are having, you will see some of the concepts that are behind the program, and you will also see that this is providing a great deal of success for those who work at it.

I would appreciate any comments or suggestions. And I will be free to discuss this with any group of athletes that would be interested. I hope that I have not overstepped the boundaries of this great site and I appologize for creating any anxiety among the senior and junior subscribers.

The program has been very good to me and I know what it can do for others. Thanks for your time, patience, and tolerance.

I have just sent out the website on the performance protocol and I encourage everyone to take the time to read the power briefs with regards to the power and speed information. The website has plenty of additional information on baseball and mental approaches which can be applied to many walks of life. But for now I emphasis the power and speed components. If you are a coach, a player, an umpire I know that this understanding of muscle recruitment, time under tension, and speed development will turn every program we have done on its end. I also know that it is never too late for anyone who reads this board to participate and develop their own physical power. If this is over the top and too enthusiastic well let it be. But I see people doing things that I never expected and I would be doing each one of you a disservice if I did not share.

So look over the briefs and fire those thoughs back at me. If I cannot answer them I will find the individuals who can.

    Thanks.
