The purpose for this event was many.

    - Helping serious-minded players to get better
    - Encourage all coaches to attend to learn something new
    - To promote a day of Family Fun during the Christmas Season
    - To raise money for scholarships to help players with unfortunate circumstances to be able to participate on Showcase teams.

Wow…what a staff we will have! From major league players, ex-players, top HS coaches and some of the best instructors in the country. When I asked everybody if they could help out, not one person hesitated. Each one said, “Great, how can I help”. All of them are volunteering simply to give something back to the young players and all have embraced the idea of creating scholarships. The Freddy Suggs Scholarships. There is nobody I can think of that will be better in awarding.

We have so many talented folks that it would take me two pages to list their credentials. These are the cream of the crop guys!

We have top instructors for the pitchers. We have top instructors for the catchers. We have outstanding instructors for the position players….and our hitting instructors? They don’t get any better.

Now something like this would cost $350-400 to attend a workout with these instructors. But with everybody volunteering their time, the cost is ridiculous---$40.00

And here is what you get:

    - Pitchers will have one on one time with Jake Robbins 14 year veteran of ML, Robert Woodard- UNC’s All Time Win leader -Padres, Ryan Morris- One of Cleveland’s top prospect- Indians---all major league players. If they can’t teach you something…you can’t be taught
    - Catchers will get advice and practice from Brandon Yarbrough- Cardinals, Jeff Schaefer 14 year veteran with the White Sox, Mariners and A’s..unbelievable!
    - Position players will have super SS Ben Billingsley with the Mariners
    - Outfielders will have an unbelievable instructional coach in David Mailman, Red Sox top prospect outfielder
    - We have 3 of the top Head Coaches in HS. Coach Danny Hignight- Providence HS, Coach Hal Bagwell- Ardrey Kell and Coach Derek Shoe- Concord HS
    - We will have Head Coach, Kermit Smith, Belmont Abbey to speak to all the players and their families about recruiting and other topics.
    - We have many college players attending, and more ML players wanting to help, but could not get confirmation before posting this. I will add them after confirmation

We have a detailed day covered with instructions and skills and will wrap up the day with a HR Derby contest— the winner will receive a trophy and a featured interview on TBR.

But now I get to mention my favorite part…Food!!! We will be feeding everybody: Players, Parents, Kids, Grandma, Grandpa…and even in-laws. We’ll be grilling hamburgers, Boston Butt's, Freddy Suggs’ World Famous Chili w/beans, potato salad, cole slaw, chips, cakes, pies, cookies and drinks. This is FREE!! So if you are looking for me, you will know where to find me.

The TBR Christmas event, sponsored by CBC, SCP, CC Prospects and Providence HS Head Coach, Danny Hignight will be held Saturday Dec. 20 at Providence HS in Charlotte. This is a perfect day to hold this event. All X-mas parties are over, all shopping is done and you will be sitting at home bored out of your mind if you didn’t have this to attend.

It’s a Family Fun Day and a TBR Gift to you.

Oh..and PS- bring a homemade cake or pie (the family recipe one’s). Let’s show off your cooking skills and I’ll be the taste tester. I'm excited and can't wait to see you there!!

There is no pre-registration. Show up at 8:00 on the field, bring your cakes and be ready to go
