NW4A League plays continues into it's second evening of the year tomorrow, January 2nd, with a trio of games.

Watauga travels to league favorite Freedom

Alexander Central travels to a hot AC Reynolds ballclub

East Burke is at Sawmills to face South Caldwell

    McDowell has the evening off

I didn't think much about conference play being tonight since we were not in action...I thought the NCHSAA rules didn't allow 4 games in a 7 day period? Or is that 4 games in a calendar week?

Anyways...we shall see just how good Watauga is tonight...:judge:

I believe its 4 games per calendar week, maximum.

I think basketball is actually 3 games per week. Softball/Baseball is 4 per week if one of those are played on a non-school day or played as a DH. I don't think we have ever played 4 in a week with basketball. That's why you only see 8 team tourneys.

Of all the games I have ever saw a SC girls team play this had to be the worst. Turnovers, terrible defense and they missed so many shots no way to keep count. i do know they missed their first 8 shots, fell behind and never lead in the whole game against a team we should beat by 20 points everytime we play them. We have some very good athletes and some real good players but no one on the team can score with any consistancey. I think we need to quit working on how to run our plays and start working totally on shooting, making layups, hitting putbacks and shooting freethrows. Before the season I said we had a chance to maybe beat Freedom and win the conference. Boy was i wrong. It will be a struggle for us to even get in the playoffs the way we are playing

Courage is FEAR, that said it's PRAYERS.
    AC Reynolds - 78
    Alexander Central - 29

ACR led 42-8 at half. Whitney Brinkley and Karlee Taylor led the way.

Rockets starting to roll. Brinkley and Taylor looking great. Freedom and AC alone at top of standings already.
