Freedom looking for new football coach

    According to The News Herald, Jason Watson has resigned as head football coach at Freedom High School. I wonder what direction Freedom will now go in. I have already been hearing rumors of some canidates who may be interested in the job. I think some of them are good choices and I think it would be best if Freedom did look outside the program to find a new coach. I knew Coach Watson personally and he is a stand guy and a class act.I wish him the best in the future.

    It's interesting because it looked like the Patriots had the thing turned around late in the season.

    Interesting. Would have thought he would have given it another year. Can any Freedom folks tell us if there was any pressure for him to step down?? I know that Freedom has been down for a couple of years, but for me, this is a surprise.

    Any suggestions on who they should go after. I have heard a few names that have been put out there.

    Rumor has it Mike Helms got the Head Football position at Freedom. Does anyone have confirmation on that???

    Coached @ Cherryville, W. Charlotte, ( ? ) and most recently @ N.W. Cabarrus. I'm almost certain on all but W. Charlotte. May of coached @ W. Lincoln. Please correct if someone knows for sure.
