Jordan Fuller (09, LHP) will be a top reliever, spot starter for Providence.

I don't know how I forgot about Jordan Fuller. It's going to be hard for the younger guys to get many innings with that group. I know Hignight is about developing the underclassmen, but the situation will have to be right.

ChltBballfan, you know Wood is going to be a leader for AK and I hope that Stetson has a big year offensively (except against Butler).

    Pitching, Pitching, Pitching

With Richie Schaeffer pitching for Providence they will have the ability to beat anybody at any time. Great alternatives with Semeniuk, etc.

With Chris Overman pitching for Myers Park they will have the ability to beat anybody at any time. Great alternatives with Balsley, etc.

With Joe Shealy pitching for South Meck they will have the ability to beat anybody at any time. Deep bullpen behind him as well...

With Alex Wood pitching for Ardrey Kell they will have the ability to beat anybody at any time. Deep bench here to with Butler, etc.

With Tyler Tewell throwing for Butler they will have the ability to beat anybody at any time.....

The question is, who do you pitch your #1 guy against when you have two big conference games in one week? Try to beat the best team you play that week, and maybe another team sneaks up and bites you...or do you pitch them against the team you have the best chance to beat that week and take your chances in the other game? Should be fun to watch different strategies in a conference this strong....

In most cases, I believe the decision will be made based on rotation. If your #1 pitched Friday, I doubt if they will turn around and pitch on Tuesday. Usually, by the time conference games start, the coach has made the decision, based on schedule, whether their #1 starts Tuesday games or Friday games and sticks with that pattern. If there is a shift in scheduling, it is usually done after Spring Break...and again it's based on conference opponents for the remaining of the season.

If a team is thin on starting pitchers, then you may see more jumbled starts, but usually that is not the case in SW4A

Providence will take it this year. Not underestimating Ak because they do all the small things due to the great coaching. I play for Marvin Ridge and would look forward to playing AK this year but i think Providence will take it this year with Richie, Clayton, Askey, Zupcic who people are forgetting, Fuller, Matt Lee and the rest of the Cougars players. But still dont want to underestimate AK.

    You may be right...

You may be right Mavs - Providence will be tough to beat.

One name not to forget for AK is Josh Case - the kid can throw hard off the bump. They also bring up some good kids from their JV team this year - JV MVP Alex Baker, Alex Bartolomeo, and Austin Machicotte.
