    East Burke @ Watauga

    Friday January 16

    Freedom @ McDowell
    South Caldwell @ AC Reynolds
    Watauga @ Alexander Central

We got some key matchups this week. A couple teams could seperate theirselves a bit from the pack if certain matchups fell in place. Also, what are the status reports on some of the injured players in the conference?

WOW....the Rockets didn't show up tonight.

    TC Roberson - 88
    AC Reynolds - 54

I can't explain all that went wrong in this game, it wasn't fun to watch, but trust me ACR isn't that bad, and TCR isn't as good as we made them out to be. However they can shoot the 3 VERY well, and needless to say we seemed to just watch them do it. UGH!

I know what you mean reynoldsrocks23. I said the same thing after they beat McDowell by about 20. Actually Roberson is a very good team that could very well win the State 3A this year.

I agree Roberson is a good team, but last night we made them look even better (thus the 30+ point loss). We seemed to refuse to get out on their shooters and make them shoot inside the arc. They didn't miss much either, but when they did, well we allowed them to get most of the rebounds. I am sure they out rebounded ACR by a 2 to 1 margin or maybe even 3 to 1. It just seems ACR has very little stategy when playing against high quality opponents. We will allow anyone to shoot at anytime from anywhere, without getting touches for our top players. I don't know if it's our "youth" or what, but at some point our "youth" has to be taught.

Watauga vs East Burke has Cancelled the JV Games. Varsity will start at 5:00 due to EBHS exams and inclement weather.

Very impressive for the Lady Titans to go to South Caldwell and beat the Lady Spartans by 14 after South's big win over Freedom last Friday. Great game Lady Titans.

I can finally say East Burke is in sole possesion of first place, at least till Friday. Who would have thunk it. Watauga played a good game and had their chances. Led most of the game, got behind by about 13 and came back to make a game of it.

Girls played hard all night long, but where lacking in the leadership (Coach) aspect. Out coached by a rookie coach!! Congrats to EB on a hard fought game. If we used our strengths, we might win a game.
