I'm suprised to here this, I thought West was the tougher team. But with most girls teams it just depends on who shows up to play that night.

    Thanks for the info.

    Draughn 47
    Lincolnton 37

    For Draughn:
    L. Connelly 11
    B. Yancey 10
    E. Ross 9

Ugly win for the Wildcats. But a win is a win.

Halfway through the Conf season. Record: 11-3 overall 8-0 Conf.
I'm sure the 2nd half of the season will be tough, as all the conf. teams know Draughn now.

    Draughn 61 OT
    Patton 54

    For Draughn:
    Sam. Hoyle 21
    B. Yancey 14
    E. Ross 12

Had to win in OT VS Patton, that says it all.
Give Patton credit they played hard.
The wildcats did look better in OT. Hang in there girls, we all know you will get back on track!

Draughn Lady Wildcats 11-0 in Conference

Draughn Lady Wildcats defeated #2 North Lincoln 79-56 on 1/23/09/Lady Cats led by Ross w/24 pts and Yancey w/20. 4 of 5 last conference games at home. They will be hard to beat. Not bad for a first year school.

Draughn seems to be doing well in their first year of play. How do you think they will do come play off time and playing schools outside of the Southern Piedmont? It looks like a tough road ahead being in the same sectional as the Central carolina teams.

They have done well but that's not unexpected-you have girls who were playing 4A--now dropping to 2A in a weak basketball conference-- If McDowell or FHS dropped to 2A they would likely be State Champs--
It's all relative. There's always another level out there....higher and lower.
