    You are very right.

Summers were always the best. You would pack a lunch and take off for the day with your friends. As long as you were home before dark it was okay. Every dad had a whistle he would call his kid home with and the funny thing was that each kid knew his Dad's. There were yards to cut and newspapers to deliver for spending money, in my house you got to keep half and the other half went in the bank...for college. Remember building forts and having dirt clod fights with kids from the next neighborhood? Don't ever remember anyone ever dying from getting hit with a dirt clod. Baseball, camping out and just being outside. TV was 2 or 3 channels and one of them was so snowy you almost couldn't make the picture out. Oh yeah, the TV was black and white. How about getting up at 5 am on Saturday morning to watch the scary movie on Sunrise Theater. Learning to fish from your Grandfather or Grandfathers (both of mine loved to fish), then when you were old enough you would take off and go with your buddies to the pond.
There are just a few of my memories.
    Good times, good times.
    Damn,I feel old sometimes.

Wow, that pretty much nailed my childhood to a tee. Why have we been so quick to let all this slip away for our kids? No unsupervised play. Techno gadgets to keep them occupied every second of every day. I really think our generation has done a disservice to our kids.

    Close your eyes, dbacks

    - Kicking that can around the block

    - Knickers did not work without suspenders

    - Baseball's were not round, but made with a ball of cloth and adhesive tape

    - All downtown businesses were closed on Wednesdays and the weekend

    - It was difficult to put 5 fingers in a 3 finger glove

    - MLB games cost a .25, unless you were a member of the knot hole gang-free

    - You know what the knot hole gang was

    - The Babe always tipped well

    - "Crank the car" meant that you had to-----crank the car

    - Raccoon coats were fashionable

    - Anita McGillicuddy = Erin Andrews
