I know my DGD hit several in her pitching days. If any were intentional, I didn't know, but I'll ask the next time I see her.

So your pitcher told a hitter she beaned her on purpose??? That could have gotten very ugly!!! I hope you pitcher wasn't in the line up as a hitter.

...I thought that coaches were not allowed to call pitches in HS.

She threw pretty hard. don't think many wanted to get in a hitting match with her. LOL

i've never had this problem is hs ball, but i remember a couple of times in tb where a parent was calling pitches from the sidelines as her daughter ignored our calls, it was short lived and so was the player.....

    Funny Thread

My DD was brought up that the plate was hers! If a batter was crowding her plate to "back em off." She has hit her share too. I know that she also had a few retaliation beans for her teammates. Got to have some meanness in ya if you're gonna be a pitcher! LOL

I think most are getting a llittle mixed up here, there is a big difference between hitting a batter and beaning a batter, to me beaning a batter is throwing at there head, and that should always be a NO,NO, however hitting a batter is a horse of a different color, that have been a part of the game of baseball and softball ever since they have been played, and I might add, will continue to be a part of the game..
