    Pinecrest

The McDonald brothers at Pinecrest should be the cream of the crop in the MSEC. I think Andrew has committed to UNCP but Taylor is still undecided I think. They combined for a no hitter in the state games against some of the best hitters in the state. And great Students and Young men to top it off.

    Scotland High School Senior

Ryan Pierce - Pitcher, 5'10", 145 lbs, very fluid delivery, very good mechanics, FB up to 86 (will be faster towards end of season), hammer (12-6 curve ball), very good change and has develop a cut fast ball (slurve ball) this past fall that will be the best in the state; it's un-hittable! Andy Partin you need to check him out before you put out the 2009 best tools in the state! He has it with this pitch, hands down. But we have to see if the coaches will allow him to throw this pitch; time with tell.
This pitcher should be the best pitcher in the MSEC. He worked this past fall with a legendary coach that has brought out a lot of his good qualities. This will be a break out year for him; college coaches need to check him out early in season. He's also a very good student as well!

    Whiteville High School Senior

Chase Rhodes - Pitcher/3B - 6', 175 lbs, has gain a lot of weight since last year, athletic built! Very well conditioned, mechanics are good, FB up to 85 (last years numbers - maybe up to 88 now (I will update once season starts)), CB a lot sharper this year, very good change, very good mound presence, just a well rounded player this year. He will be the ACE on the mound and will be a 3-4 batter this year.
This kid has worked extremely hard since last year and it has shown early in practices. This kid is determine to make a good impression this year! Colleges coaches you need to check him out early in season, he should have a good start. Also, a very good student as well.

Any colleges coaches needing more informations can PM me.

    Stephen Wright RHP - PERSON

Stephen is a solid RHP, throws mid 80's, I would estimate, b/c I dont have a gun. He has good arm action can spot pitches and has good mechanics and command. Is expected to provided stability to our rotation and is a heckuva position player also. Can also play MINF and OF. Has good speed and is a solid LH stick. If you have questions, you can email me at [email protected]

Coach May has seen Stephen also and give information also if you are interested.

Mat Batts from Mount Tabor High School in Winston-Salem. Left handed pitcher that throws 82-84. He has been a four year varsity starter and he has also played for the South Charlotte Panthers.

Thanks for the comment on Paul. I try to refrain from commenting on his pitching because I can't help but be totally biased in my opinion of him from watching him pitch over the years. If anyone wants a testimonial, Coach May (Coach 27) has seen Paul in action and I am sure he would not mind giving his opinion on Paul. Also JH Rose baseball coach Ronald Vincent would be happy to do the same.

I will say that Paul just gets the job done on the mound and in the classroom (4.65 GPA....never made anything lower than an A at Rose). He does everything in a quiet, efficient way and I am proud of him.

    Braves-
Yeah, he's a good athlete. Definitely looks the part of a collegiate player and I think the upside makes him intriguing. As far as the "breeding" goes, I'm afraid the stock has been diluted a bit right now with us being divided in 1/2 for the 2nd time in eight years (Robinson & now Hickory Ridge).....but we have great kids & we'll battle! Thanks - Coach Knight
