    ......heres the situation. A kid accepts a scholarship from school A to play a sport in the spring. Lets say the scholarship is 10k. So School A applies 5k towards the fall semester. BAM!, the kid for one reason or another chooses to go home and not play in the spring.
    Can the school sue the kid for breach of contract, and ask for a reimbursement of funds?
    How does such a scenario affect a teams total scholarship base?
    Can another kid be awarded the 5k without NCAA problems, and if another kid takes over the $, can the first kid still be held liable?

    answer hopefully

    The individual who does not return for the second semester in 99% will not ask to give anything back. She has lived up to her contract for the 1st semester. (5000.00). The rest of her money can be used in the second semester for another individual. This happens with spring sports. This will start to become less of a problem with the new ncaa transfer rules.

    agree Iowa, it is a semester by semester item. but i'm gonna take this further;

    supposed the player becomes academically ineligible for the second semester and cant play in the spring, does her scholarship money still come in???

    and what do they do with the scholarship money when a student leaves???

    According to my DDs coach.

    If a player does not return or is ineligible. Her monies go back into the pot and are distributed amongst the girls who are still there or are given to a girl who is brought in to replace her.
