What A Great Response to "BEST-OF-THE-BEST"

Thanks so much for so much feedback, either positive, negative, or combative in responding to the concept of Best-of-the-Best!!! The concept has created excitement, which is what we want.

One problem I see when we go to tournaments is splitting into A, B, C classes of teams. There is a place for each of these types of teams, and many tournaments that will welcome them. What we are attempting to do in this tournament is attract teams that consider themselves to be one of the top A-level teams in their age group whether in North Carolina, Georgia, Virginia or beyond. Do you consider yourself one of those teams? If you do, please, please, please PM me and we can consider you in this tournament.

    Some general criteria to consider:

    1. Better than 60% winning percentage in 2008 and 2009 A Level tournaments (for whatever tournaments you have played).
    2. Two (2) or more tournament victories in "A" division play in 2008.
    3. Your team attended nationals and has been successful.
    4. 16U/18U teams - your team plays in some of the biggest showcases (Cardinals & SC Bandits Showcases, Rising Stars, Pennsbury, Fireworks, etc.) and matches up favorably against any team you play.
    5. Other criteria I am forgetting that would show you are a top notch team (open to suggestions if you have any).
What we really want to see is a tournament where the level of play is top-notch - perhaps the best field of teams in any tournament in the state. We will have nationals type pageantry and I can promise this will be one of the best run tournaments your team will attend this season. Too many times you take your team to a tournament and beat the heck of a team. This is no fun and of no benefit to any player on the field for either team. I can promise you will have to bring your "A" game. Too many times you take your team to a tournament, get a 70 minute time limit and only finish 4 innings of what truly should be a seven inning game.

For the first year we hope to get 10-15 teams per age group and we hope as an organization that this tournament will grow into one of the best in the Southeast. Though we are calling it an "Invitational," we are certainly open to putting teams in that I don't have contact info for, or don't know that much about. So please don't be offended if you don't get a personal invite from me. Like I said earlier, if you know your team will make an impact on this tournament, message me.

And sure, the Best-of-the-Best is very much controversial, but if you are fired up about it, message me and lets see what your team can do on the field. And if you have a recommendation of a team you would consider top-notch, please let me know.

    Interested?

    Agreed !!

Just like NBA players there are kids on the street that could make today's NBA players look like 10 year olds playing basketball that have not yet been discovered !! I'm like Charlie, "Best of The Best" is a dangerous title, but a catchy one ( NO PUN INTENDED ) !!!!

My Team is Better----:36:---- No Mine Is !!!

    IFA Fastpitch Tournaments

If you are looking for a better place to play fastpitch tournaments, let me introduce you to International Fastpitch Association.

International Fastpitch Association was created in August of 2008 for the kids. Fastpitch softball is a growing sport that involves not only softball players, but their families and friends as well. IFA was created to not only allow players, but their families and friends to enjoy tournaments as well.

Bigger and better things are planned for the 2009 IFA tournament season. More tournaments, additional venues, and thus more competition is expected. The 2009 team points race champion will enjoy an unparalleled prize package and the "race to four" and the home-run contest will gear up at the Almost Spring Challenge tournament in Burlington on 2/28 and 3/1.

IFA will be offering a High School league in each tournament except for the State Tournament and World Series events. This will combine teams from the 16U and 18U divisions into one group. You must 18 or younger on January 1st to play. You do not have to be in High School. IFA is doing this to provide a place for older girls to play a regular tournament instead of Showcases.

A new offering for the 2009 season in IFA is the "combine". At each tournament, teams/players will be able to measure their abilities in certain areas, and IFA will keep these numbers over the course of the season. This will allow teams/players the ability to see where they stand and their improvements over the course of the season. Best of all, this service will be free to all participants.

IFA looks forward to seeing all of you during the 2009 season. If, at any time, you have a question, comment, or suggestion - please let us know. Our goal is to make competitive, fastpitch softball tournaments fun and enjoyable for the entire family.
