    Didn't get to go but I heard McDowell was down by 7 late in the fourth quarter but stormed back, tyeing the game in the final minute. McDowell's starting shooting guard,Ward fouled out with a little over 1 minute to go. Then with 5 seconds left the McDowell freshman,Brackett hits the winner for McDowell. Freedom got the ball back with 5 seconds left but Ali turned it over coming up the court. Ford finished with 10 points.

    McDowell is the NW4A Conference Champions.:trophy:

    Anyone else notice Ward got a few fouls that actually belonged to someone else. Was it the first day on the job for those refs?

    You are right, Warden. However, I'm sure that if the win was on the other side, we would all be hearing about it! I will give her credit when credit is due- she is a very good player. Right now, I am just VERY happy for our girls and Coach Franklin...

CHAMPS-well i hate 2 bring this up but here is your playoff scenerio mcdowell-BUTLER BUTLER BUTLER...NEED I SAY MORE?GOOD LUCK N PLAYOFFS AS THE NW4A #1 SEED WILL GET THE SHAFT BECAUSE BUTLER IS WAITNG 4 U 2 END YOUR RUN...N 2 U TITANCHEER93 U ONLY WISH UR AFFILIATE WITH MCD.     FHS can only look at the FT line , missed front end of 2 one and one s in last 90 sec and 1 for 2 the next trip - so those are 5 points you can't do without.
    Congrats to MCD who did another great job on Ford,they have to find a way to get her some open jumpers-
    and for Cheer-I will anwer for whoever else you think might...Ali who ? is the girl that has scored more points in this league than anyone in history.

    I want to say this about this McDowell Lady Titan team. For the past 8+ years McDowell has been blessed with some outstanding athletes,especially at the guard position. This year Coach Franklin had to start with a young team that didn't seem to have any exceptional athletes. The first game I got to attend was the home game against TC Roberson. The lady Titans were playing their 3rd game in as many nights and seemed tired and never got into the flow of that game while losing by double digit's to a very good Roberson team. After this loss the Lady Titans really seemed to excel. This team plays with more heart and intensity on defense than any team I can remember at McDowell in the past several years. Coach Franklin deserves to be NW4A COY because he took a bunch of young unproven ladies and made them believe in themselves and together they accomplished more than anyone thought possible. Great job Lady Titans, I am so proud of you all.

    Correct me if Im wrong, but has Freedom (during Ford's tenure) captured at least a share of the NW4A title? I want to say they tied with McDowell one year, but Im not sure. I know they havent beaten McDowell for the tournament title.

    It sure is a shame to see a player as good as Ford to NOT come away with some hardware.

    No matter what happens in the state playoffs Mcdowell is still the NW4A champs. Congratulations
