I think the last time they won the conference was during the Keri Gardin years

McD made one more basket than fhs. But it was a huge one.it was a conference title bucket,I wouldn't worry about butler...if U get to them and that means this overacheiving group is in the 3rd.round. FHS needs some inside out game, not patient enough for that.for FHS -you have to now think its a lose the battle but win the War mentality...try to win a conf tourney title then take advantage of an easier road than 1st in the playoffs.

Ali Ford is definitely an exceptional player, as is CC. However, basketball is a team sport, and McDowell plays good team ball.

Let's keep Butler out of this argument.

I remember watching McDowell issue a beat down to Butler two years ago at Mcdowell in the postseason. And, by the way, if both teams make it this far, it will be played at Mcdowell again this year.

I feel about Mcdowell and West Charlotte in the same fashion - they are the teams to beat in postseason until Butler - or anyone else - proves they can beat them in the postseason.

I have seen Ali Ford play in about 5 games over the last 4 years and I have enjoying watching her play more than any other high school athlete. Congrats to her for all of her accomplishments.

First off...I got two words for you Guru: SHUT UP!!!

Second, your rambling of how we're gonna have to face Butler in the sectionals is nothing more than a distraction for all the crow you are eating right now.

Third...I had something that came up this afternoon that prevented me from being at tonight's game. For this being the last time Freedom/McDowell plays as conference foes..it sure as heck went out with a bang from all I've been told. I'm sure both squads laid it all on the line...and yes dribbles I'm gonna save you your breath in saying that we sold our soul to defending Ali...anyway, the biggest moment of the contest came down to the last 20 seconds and a freshmen (Tuccoa Brackett) making the game-winning shot. That is a moment she can cherish for long time.

I hate to say it but no one in our conference is going to win the state so winning the conference is the only attainable goal for nw4a teams this year. I'll have to say it has been a suprising year for me. I thought Freedom was in for a cake walk to the conference title and they lost 3 times in conference. I thought we (SC) may give them a run for the title and we did split with Freedom but really didn't do what I thought we would have with the talent we have. Mcdowell and EB were big surprises especially Mcdowell.
