I saw that the NW4A was very well represented at the 2006 YBOA National Championships this summer. Looked like there were four teams that are going to feed into a NW4A school next year.

In the 13u age group, we had the Carolina Spartans (South Caldwell), McDowell Titans (McDowell) and the Lady Royals (Some will go to AC Reynolds). In the 14u age group we had Lady Royals (AC Reynolds), and the Watauga Storm (Watauga). The Burke Jammers participated in the AAU Division 2 tournament, but I do not know how they did.

By looking at the results, the NW4A was well represented. The Carolina Spartans finished 2nd in the 13u American division. The McDowell Titans finished 2nd in the 13u National Division. The Lady Royals finished tied for 13th. The Lady Royals 14u team also finished tied for 13th. The Watauga Stom finished tied for 9th in the 14u age group. 7 out of the 10 players for the Storm were playing up an age division as well.

Congrats to all of the teams participating. You have represented the NW4A very well. Looks like girls basketball in the NW4A will be quite interesting for the next 4 years at least. :trophy: :trophy: :woot: :woot:

Sorry Dan, that is my fault. I knew many of the girls on the 13u team in 2006 were on the McDowell Lady Titans Varsity this year. That was just my way of saying these girls were always winners, whether anyone expected it or not. Of course with Molly, Kristen, Tuccoa and MacKenzie in the mix, they became even better.
