I don't think Constance Orr kept the Cal. Bears off balance. The Tar Heels defense saved Constance Orr time after time after time, because the Bears hit the hell out of Constance. If it was'nt a running or diving catch, it was a very hard hit ball at one of the Tar Heels. The Bears knocked out 12 hits and could have easily had 20 hits. The Tar Heels Defense kept the Bears off balance.

Where in this, "my original post" do I knock Constance Orr at being a bad player? Where? All I said was Constance Orr did NOT keep the Bears offense off balance. It was the defense of the Tarheels that won the game.
And you Homer, who think I am a Cal fan, guess again. Instead of attacking me and calling this a "Harsh post", all I said was Constance Orr did not keep the Cal Bears off balance.
Constance is 17 yrs old and a wonderful person. If any one was at the game, they would have seen how hard she was hit. Either great plays by the defense or the ball was hit right at someone. Breana Brown struck out twice and popped up to the catcher, would you say she had a great game at the plate because she is only 21, comes from Durham and was a very coachable girl at Jordan HS and at travel ball. Breana Brown is a very good ballplayer who I like and respect and would take her on my team anytime along with Constance Orr. I did not hear one post of the 2nd basewomen who made 2 great diving catches at 2nd base and in short rightfield, the doubleplay turned by Francona at 3rd or the pickoff attempt at 1st base by McKinney where the runner looked to be out, but was called safe. Sure looked like a team effort from me,

Having stumbled across this thread because of my strong interest in Tar Heel athletics, I really have no "dog" in this "fight." However, some of the posts here prompt me to remind a couple of you that this message board was founded on the principal that all fellow board participants and student athletes, especially, deserve to be treated with respect. As a result, we tend to congratulate players on noteworthy performances, and under no circumstances do we resort to name calling when referring to other people who post.

There are plenty of sports message boards where "put downs" and name calling are tolerated. If that sort of thing appeals to you, I suggest that you spend your time over there.

Why is everyone so mad at Trooper? He just stated the facts. You win as a team and you lose as a team. Some days the pitching is overwhelming, others, the bats come alive. There are days like yesterday when the defense steps up. We are one team united by players and a great coaching staff. The fans at the game supported the team in a very positive way. If some of you feel that there are players not playing up to there potential, voice your opinions. It is something to work at and build on. Thanks to all for your support and don't fight among yourselves. You will be surprised that some of you may be sitting next to one another at one of the games. Play nice and remember we are rooting for the same team.

Thanks Prepster for the reminder. The name calling is unacceptable. If you can not disagree in a civil way, then do not post here.

Somebody brought this up in this thread. If it's not something you would want to read about your DD or son, then don't post it. I started this site for the sole reason to get away from that kind of stuff. There are plenty of other sites one can go to do that.

As TarHeel Gal said, "Play nice"

Tarheel Gal, thanks, but don't be too nice to me. The way the people react on this board, they will treat you the same way. Anyway, this board can be fun. You will learn alot and enjoy it. Did you win?

I too have no dog in this fight. But can I just say for a Freshman getting playing time at a D1 school should be enough for a "congratulations". WTG to the whole Carolina team!

....no doubt my "other" DD can play, and she'll get her PT for sure. Her team beat #3 OKL., then lost to #14 Houston, then beat Indiana. Rainouts of OK St. and Texas State had alot to do with PT for the girls in Houston.
The Pack is in Palm Springs today, heres the schedule (gametracker):
Thursday 1:00 EST vs. Cal-Santa Barbara
Thursday 4:00 EST vs. Cal St Fullerton

    Friday NCSU vs. #9 Cal
    Friday NCSU vs. #15 UMASS

Sat. NCSU vs. #6 UCLA 11:00 EST

    Go Pack!

Look dude what r you smoking? Pitching i not all about strikeouts it also about where u locate it. !!!!! and the last time I checked pitching is defense.
So when you face a team like Cal and you know they can hit you place the ball and make them hit right to gloves, Duh. So what they hit a ball to the glove!!! that's still not a hit and is not counted as a hit!!!! She did her JOB as a 17 yr old Pitcher and you should be happy for her. Orr did her job and her team did their's. Sounds like to me that someone is jealous of her because she is 17 and she kicked butt and took names just like the rest of the team did. Is your kid on Carolina and not playing? or are you from Cal and just plan mad because you lost to a so called behind in fastpitch team? Guess what we have caught up. You will hear a lot about HOW GOOD UNC is so get use to it!!! Way to Go Contance Orr I love you and keep working hard, proud of you.
As to the rest of the team way to back your pitcher and play as a TEAM and don't let no one stand in your way. Kick butt UNC.
