What do you think after the first official day??

After watching snow flurries all day in Roxboro, I felt like we had a very good 1st day with good intensity, hustle and a day of hard work...

What about the rest of you?

Brrrrrrrrrrrr. Practice looked good but cold for us casual observers. Good turnout.

We had a lower number of kids than I expected for the first day. We are still missing a few Varsity basketball players, but I was looking for a larger turnout from our meetings and workouts. But I always say, I will take quality over quantity. So now I just have to turn them into the quality that I think they can all become.

I was impressed with the baseball shape our guys were in. Especially the guys who finished wrestling and JV basketball last week.

Overall is was a good first day. Even with the weather, it's like I always tell the team, "Every day is a beautiful day to play baseball."

Good first day, got a lot of work in. Kids showed a lot of hustle and willingness to
get things done. Weather was about 50 not to bad.

Hickory Ridge had a large turn out. Last year as a first year school they really struggled. With all the work the boys have done this year you expect great improvement. Coach Steed is awesome. He runs a great practice. The kids never stop and are always moving through the drills.

We finished under the lights and my fingers were numb. All in all a good day- offense ahead of defense at this point. Glad to be back out there- I've been lost since the end of legion ball in July.

A friend of mine who is a new coach/teacher this year, and an old school thinker, has already had to deal with parents complaining of kids getting worked too hard.

Who said they get a vote!!!!!!!!!!

In the old days, if a coach heard some parent complaining, he would send the kid packin'.
Parents- Shut up or Stay home.

they might stay at home, but they have a thing now called e-mail. I had a jv coach tell me last year he stopped checking his emails because it was usually full of bs from a parent.:toilet-paper:
