OMG that is $10,000 worth of bats in the picture. No wonder the bat manufacturers want tighter regulations.

Why not go back to the old wooden bats? I could hit a softball pretty good with a bat made from a tree limb back in my day.

...help the Fish out here Cheeze. I've got a couple of "leftover" bats from my older DD, can my younger DD use them now?
    I've got 2 black RTs with a 2000 stamp.
A couple of silver RTs as well.

    Heard through the grapevine

Don't know all the particulars but I have heard that ASA was looking past the bats, due the expense dumped on a manuf. for re-tooling to create new bats. What I've heard is they are looking into changing the ball again. The ball being considered is a 52 cor with I think a 175 or 225 compression. This is a softer compound ball with a lot less "pop". We'll just have to wait and see. They did it with slowpitch several years ago.

......BAM! They changed the slowpitch ball? No wonder I can't hit it out anymore. I thought my slump was due to my getting old!
They must have moved the bases further apart too. Sure seems that way. lol

As much as I didn't recommend the quality, I have two players looking for a white Easton (Easton SCN6B Stealth Comp CNT), 32-inch length. Does anyone have one or two to sell?

beginning of the "Dead Ball Era" in softball???

Quoting CardCoach... "This is a softer compound ball with a lot less "pop"."

The hazard is defensive players too close to batters...

again, I say consider 50' pitching distance and 70' bases.

Softball won't be half as much fun if it sounds, and performs, like hitting a cantaloupe.... splat!... dribble, dribble, dribble...
