First off Constance Orr is a great kid. I have spoken with her alot and she is as awesome a person and she is a player. She has done wonders for the team and will only get better. As for Trooper who was recently banned from these boards. Most or all of you don't him, but he is the nicest person. I knew nothing about this board and he was so nice in giving me all the information I needed to get on here. He also said the people on here are great. He has such respect for Constance as he does for the rest of the team. Trooper gave his fair share of what he thought of the UNC/Cal game and you all crucified him. He has done some wonderful things that go unnoticed and I am sure many of you who attend the games have ran into him. You probably thought to yourselves that this is a wonderful person and yet you did not know him. Before you start pointing fingers and letting him have it with both barrels, you should know that he is probably one of the best Tarheel fans that comes to the games and lets the girls know they are a team 2nd to none. How many people do you know that have approached a 17 yr old college player and asked her to autograph a softball for his daughter.

Well I'm sure he may be a nice guy but the way he worded it didn't come out the way he really meant it.

    Something Else !!

Constance Orr was throwing BB's when she was a 10U player, and pitched and won the NSA Super World in Peoria,ILL. coached by Jason Henneman of the Carolina Curve. Something else a lot of people don't know about her she just turned 17 years old, skipped 2 grades of school....show me a kid that is playing ACC ball or any other top D1 school that should be a Junior in high school , but is playing Collegiate ball. Don't put down a kid that has worked her $$$$$ off ,and is now reached her goal. The Orr's are great people, and Travis is one of my best friends on and off the softball field !!!

    We Are Family !!

Trooper needs to get on the other end of the stick...What if that were his kid that people were talking about?? I think sometimes we are jealous of those that soar over us so we try to find weakness in our opponents. What was the reason for pointing out how many hits the other team got then saying it could have been 20 ?? C'mon it didn't sound nice to me !!!

Does this have anything to do with the Tarheels or is this all about Constance Orr?
    1) Someone posted that constance threw BB's as a 10 yr old. She is not 10 anymore.
2). Someone posted that they did'nt like the idea that Trooper said the Californai Bears could have easily had 20 hits. It was more like 14-15. Also stating that he is good friend with Travis (Constance dad).

So this is all about Constance, she is home grown, recruited and playing for North Carolina as a 17 yr old. A very good pitcher that in many of your eyes is perfect and should be put on a pedestal. Her mother and father read this board, so she must be treated as the greatest living athlete to come out of these parts.
Well let me tell you all something. There are 17 other players on this team where most read these boards. This team won the game as a TEAM, not Constance's team, the TARHEELS TEAM.
You criticised Trooper for stating facts. Constance was not dominating out there as she has been, the team came through defensively and it was a TEAM win. Not Constance, A TEAM WIN. Sure we are overjoyed with Constance performance and her potentional is unlimited. Accept the criticism. Criticism is a valuable tool if used right, not to put someone down who is stating facts.
If you all think Constance is so great, well so is Trooper, she makes mistakes and he makes mistakes. It seems most of you do not.
Coaches have a lot to do in keeping there players from getting over confident. A little criticism helps every now and then.

    Topic

This topic has run its course and like many topics that head south, we as readers and posters pick out parts of a post and attack instead of reading the entire post and figuring out what is truly being said. No one post covered all issues and not one post was meant to exclude the Tarheels team and say Constance was a super human or a super failure, however the post seem to take both approaches rather than covering the situation as it could have been. UNC played a great game and Constance helped her teammates by pitching with control and confidence on a day when she was not on top of her game. Enough said, great win, great performance by the WHOLE TEAM and something to build on at this point in the season.
Trooper and I shared two personal messages and Tarheel gal is right, he seems to be a nice person and he realizes he could have said things in a different way and got the same point across. I think he truly does care about UNC and the coaching staff and his passion for UNC got him carried away. He and I are OK with each other because we dealt with it offline and between each other.
Tarheel Gal, let it go now! I will send you a personal e-mail as well. Many of these posters on this site are wonderful DAD's, coaches, fans, and are passionate about their kids and their kids friends so they jump to protect! However, I love and respect most all of them and know they are not the type that hold things against people! Trooper is the same way, I believe! Let it go guys, end this post and move on to cheering for all out NC girls and their colleges.:cuda:

    Every sport has one TG

In baseball it's the pitcher, in football it's the quarterback, in hockey it's the goalie, in racing it's the points leader, in basketball it's their leading scorer, and in softball it's the pitcher. That's just the way it is. Look at what happened to Davidson last night when their leading scorer couldn't play!

    FOR THE RECORD

lets get something straight, Trooper was entitled to his opinion as we all are, but as always, its all in the delivery. I dont believe he meant things to come out as they were, but the fact is he took it a little too far in reguards to insulting a player, and we all know the rules about this. I believe he was banned because he did the unthinkable and posted a thread about a preps player in rant and rave. we all know what this could, and often does lead too, so in my opinion, we had no choice but to ban him for taking this aweful step. making the statement that he didnt know the rules is unacceptable in that common sense would dictate the golden rule we try to follow: "what if someone said this about my kid?" I'm sure he will be back, and i hope he will understand that we do have some pretty solid and basic rules on the preps forums.....

oh yeah, in my opinion, constance orr rocks, has since i first saw her and has a personality that every parent wants from their daughter. but still, it takes nine to win and nine to lose......
