cary high has some work to do like everyone else, maybe even a little more.

cary high and cary academy tied 3-3 (we believe). not much of a "Game", runners didn't go on passed balls, not much stealing, etc. game ended in the middle of an inning after coaches had seen enough pitching for the afternoon.

some guys had rough afternoons but hopefully they got the kinks out. couple of guys stepped up on the other hand which was good to see when our "horses" didn't bring their A games.

also potentially lost our senior 1B and one of, if not our best, stick to a leg injury late in the scrimmage.

cary high hosts southeast raleigh tomorrow afternoon at 4pm for it's final pre-season tune up. unsigned senior RHP, eric pilecki, will throw the first 2 or 3. i believe he is close to making a decision, so if you want in on him, get busy.

leesville @ cary march 6th, first regular season game for the imps

    MPHS vs AK

It was a good scrimage last night. Both teams looked good at times and I think we both had one rough inning.
I was surprised the pitchng was as good as it was for MPHS.
BTW the SS for MPHS was Ethan Ledbetter, Burris Played 2nd base and also played well.
It was good to meet you last night, Mr. Butler introduced us and your Son is a tremdous player.

Good Luck to both teams as we begin to crank it in high gear!

You're a nut! Great umpire as well. Move to Oxford. Only bring immediate family, though.

homer61, how bout a review of the Hopewell game tonight. Heard it wasn't pretty for the Titans. Might be a little overhyped if they can't get some players back from injury and suspension.

    Butler over Hopewell

A nice evening for baseball, Butler played well tonight against Hopewell. Hopewell did have one bad inning, but looked good through the other 8 or 9. Ben Berkey goes yard for Butler over the 370' center field fence. Nice hit Ben! Once again Butler pitching, hitting, and fielding looked pretty solid. The Hopewell pitcher that entered the 3rd and pitched the 4th innings did a fine job keeping the Butler batters off balance. Maybe Homer61 can give us that pitcher's name and add additional comments on the game.

    Orange 5, Person 4 (Tuesday)

Orange and Person played to a score of 5-4 in 8 innings on Tuesday. The pitching was solid for both teams and the defense was not as sharp as it should have been for both teams as it was tough getting the rust shook off defensively.

We really need to scrimmage Saturday if we are to be ready for what appears to be a really good Webb team Tuesday.

    Sorry Coach

Looks like you will have to do it without. Weather on the way. Good luck.

Many teams need lots of work. A local coach of a pretty fair baseball team was recently heard to say, "boys, at some point you've got to play with your ability, and not your reputation".
