    4-0

Billy Stone 1-3 rbi, Kyle Brandeburg 1-3 run, David Coffey sac fly rbi, Desean Anderson 1-3, Ben Fultz 1-3 HR, Walt Sparks 2-3 run, Joe Bright 1-1 rbi. Pitching allowed 1 hit and 2 walks. Mcbride looked good going 3 innings on not many pitches. He should be ready to open conference next week at SWR. Bennett Hixson, Billy Stone, David Coffey, and Kyle Brandenburg went 1 inning.

Southern Lee has an excellent shortstop.

Tonight, Ragsdale gets by Grimsley 1-0. Bennett Hixson went 7 innings on just 68 pitches. Faced the minimum, allowed one hit. 17 1st pitch strikes. Grimsley kept Ragsdale off balance as Kyle Brandeburg had the only hit. Winning run was walked home in the 1st inning.

Grimsley has an excellent coaching staff. Jason Simmons HC, Chuck Sharp and JK Whited asst. coaches.

Kevin Parrish struck out 7 and only gave up one hit. He did very well for the Bobcats. Glenn had 10 hits, all singles. Matt Murphy took the loss for the Patriots.

Fairmont's Kyle Britt (sophomore) pitched 5 innings -2 hits, 1 Unearned run, 7 SO. If he continues to mature you will hear his name alot.
Justin Britt MIF/P, 2-4 AB, (unsigned senior looking for the right JC or CC) got the save in 1 1/3 innings, 1 hit (ump aided--sorry I had to add that), 1 unearned run.
Michael Bass, fresh off the basketball court, got off to a rocky start pitching in middle relief.

It was indeed a pitcher duel. All of the runs scored were unearned. Both pitchers pitched well. Coach Ferrell has a very solid team.

Person has played 2 games to date, both losses. Cardinal Gibbons defeated us 8-0 on Thursday.

Stephen Wright (RHP) pitched well allowing 2 earned runs in 5 IP.

Honestly, we have struggled defensively in our losses. We committed 7 errors against Cardinal Gibbons and did not hit well. Against South Granville, we committed 5 errors, with 3 costly ones in a 3 run 6th inning for South Granville. With the exception of the 6th, we played alot better.

Our pitching has been very solid. I know that we must get better defensively and offensively, and I know we will. We only have 2 players playing in the same positions they played last year and we have 3 Sophomores that we will rely on heavily this season, so we may take a few lumps until the kinks are worked out. Our players are working hard in practice and it will pay off.

Cardinal Gibbons is much improved and South Granville is always solid. Next week we play Cedar Ridge, typically a good team and JF Webb, whom I think may contend for their Conference title, along with facing South Granville again. It will not be easy, but our goal is to prepare for PAC-6 play which begins the following week.

That is a nice coaching staff - all Ragsdale people. So Sharp is there now? Who is coaching Ragsdale JVs? Good to see JK back in Greensboro. Would have loved to have him at Ragsdale if he coaches as good as he played.
