    WP- Soph. Dakota Icard

    The EB Lady Cavs played great ball today. Some good hits by Alex Abernathy, Dakota Icard, Kayla Shelton, Taylor Burkhalter and Megan Herman. Dakota Icard pitched 5 innings with only one run scored and Holly Hudson closed out the last two innings. EB's next game is at home against Newton Conover this Monday at 4pm.

    After yesterday's loss to Hickory Grove, the Eagles opened their home season with a 9 to 1 victory over the visiting Cougars of High Point Christian. A pair of sophmore lefty's went at each other with Caitlyn Campbell (1-1) picking up the win over Bethany Geseil.

    John, Sun Valley had 3 runs.
    Thanks for the kind words. It was our first game with our new coach and some other players. Good game, we made some errors which we will work on.
    Great hit over the fence! Give her a hug from me.
    It's always a good game between our two teams. I think we all had a good time even with the score.

    I believe East Burke will be the team to watch in the NW4A. With 5 senior leaders,A.Abernathy,Hermon,Shelton,Lewis and P.Abernathy along with the very good Junior pitcher Holly Hudson and Sophomore sensation Dakota Icard this team may be a solid threat for 2nd place in the league behind the favorite Alexander Central. I also hear they have a very good freshman in Kayla Shelton that may contribute also.
