Congratulations to Coach Franklin on a well deserved Award. He took a young team and taught them how to win. Great players can make an average coach look good but it takes a great coach to teach average players how to win. 2008 NW4A Regular season Champions!!:N1yeeaah:

Not one girl from AC makes it but at least 1 from every other team does? I realize they did not win a game, but still.

I'm not one of those that thinks every player should get a trophy, but i do think at least one person should be represented on the All-Con team, either 1st team or honorable mention.

I guess the one girl you might question is Lopez-- I thought the Farmer girl was more effective from ACR(and was all-tourney)

a side note to State playoffs is that TC Roberson and Forestview will play for a spot in Championship Saturday...Both schools have 2 losses vs. FHS and Both schools have more students now than Freedom--the
re-alignment came a year too late for the Pats!

I like the way you are thinking! Since Butler has beaten Mallard Creek once (by 27 points), East Meck four times and West Charlotte twice they should not have to play this weekend and get a bye straight to the championship!

Good choice but not the best one COY

I think the way east burke played after losing the core group to Draughn was awesome. Franklin had more talent to work with and continuity of the program that Coach Gravel had to basically rebuild. And I am a Freedom fan so this isn't a EB fan being biased.

    Give me a break

Gravel did a fine job; no question about that.
But then again, EB finished 6 games below .500.
Franklin's team won 23 games and the conference championship after losing Washington, Greene and Hamilton. This was one of the easiest COY votes I can remember - a no-brainer really.

Well you still have to play the games because things change and you only have to beat a team once so upsets happen.
To goodoleburke--(grow up!)--I don't think stating something that is totally fact--is making an excuse-Patton opened 2 years ago -so FHS has been smaller for 2 years than those teams playing for the regional final- but had to keep playing 4a while the new school got to play to it REAL size--the NCHSAA should consider that anytime a school opens---EB was in the same boat for the past year-Imagine if EB's FBall team had got to be in 2A playoffs this year (that is what size they are). But next year that really good team will be gone.
