So...what you're really trying to say is that if Freedom was in the 3A bracket, they would be playing for a State Championship next weekend? (given that they beat FV and TCR twice each)

not necessarily- that 3rd time is always the toughest__
the point was more about when schools split the new school is treated by the numbers they have--the old school that loses kids keeps playin up until re-alignment and the NCHSAA should look closer at letting everyone play where there true numbers are in the playoffs--thats why we have classifications (NUMBERS of students)

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't they have an exception rule and let freedom keep all their players from before and not make them go to Patton

Correct me if im wrong but didnt south caldwell have a player a few years ago who lived in another county. In other words do not say anything about another keeping players when south has been known as well for having out of district players. And no I am not affliated with Freedom.

They did allow some kids on that side of town that were already at Freedom to stay. Then the next year, it went to being more of a deal where the parents had to appeal in front of the B.O.E. to let them go...which turned out to open a whole other can of worms.

what Bunch of schools lost numbers when Patton opened CRE? or when Draughn opened? 1 school lost numbers in each case-
It doesn't matter to me where the school is---burke county or Timbukto--if you lose 1000 kids at once, you should be immediately evaluated to play in playoffs just like the new school is. Charlotte doesnt experience it because when they open a new school they pull some from several districts and usually open the doors with 4A numbers! (

I wasnt talking about when patton opened, Rob.I was saying alot of schools lost numbers when a new school opens.I know it is different in charlotte. But alot of places where they are 1 or 2 high schools in the county deal with this problem. What am I saying is how do u know it would have made a difference if freedom would have moved down to 3a this past season.Enjoy the good season Freedom had and be happy with it.
