    Jordan Mathews 1-0 over Northwood

    Olivia Peavy held Northwood to just 3 or 4 hits to lead JM to the win in the season opener for both teams.
    Carrie Webster led Northwood on the mound and at the plate with two hits.

    Hopewell 19 Myers Park 2 (Score Correction)

    Myers Park scored 2 runs in the top of the 3rd on a leadoff double by Megan Berry (first ever Varsity at bat) followed by a double by Emily Scott. Emily scored 2 batters later on an RBI groundout by Brittany Kalmbach.

    Not important to most...but important to me. Could have completely given up to get out of Hopewell without any fight whatsoever! We were outmanned but took it and kept fighting. I'll take the effort starting 3 Freshmen/5 Sophomores/1 Junior/1 Senior (with a Flex player).

    Awesome scrap in Huntersville!

    Great game today in Huntersville, as #1 ranked Butler visited #4 ranked North Meck.

    Final Score in 14 innings - Butler 4 North Meck 3

    WP - K. Spurrier
    LP - S. Allen

    Both pitchers threw the entire game.

    North Meck had opportunity to tie game in bottom of 14th, when they had runners on second and third with two outs. Base hit to right scored one, but runner from second was thrown out at the plate.

    If anyone has more details on this game, please share.

    The 2009 season is off to a tremndous start. Hats off to both squads.

    Mount Pleasant tops Hickory Ridge

    Mount Pleasant won their home opener against Hickory Ridge 7-3 today.

    Great job by freshman pitcher Taylor Carpenter allowing only two hits and adding 6 strikeouts.
