South Meck 6 Lake Norman 5

The Sabres jumped out in front early with a 2-Run HR from Spencer Shuey in the first inning. Casey Gebhardt had a two run double in the 4th to extend the Sabres lead to 5 before Derrick Rowe hit his second HR of the season in the top of the fifth to extend the lead to 6. Caleb Cunningham & Deuce Wright each had a double and a single to lead the offense. Wright also threw out 2 base runners attempting to steal. Lake Norman made the game interesting with a 3 run HR in the bottom of the fifth to close the gap. Jeff Barkley started for the Sabres and threw 4 strong innings while allowing only one hit, striking out 4 and one earned run. Tyler Woods came into the game and threw 2 1/3 innings to capture his first save of the season. This was a unusual game due to the fact that both team "DID NOT" commit an error! Very well played and great to watch! The Sabres are now 2-0 to start the season.

    Butler over Richmond County

    Butler 7
    Richmond 0

Patrick McMahon gets the complete game shut out. Ben Berkey and Jake Fincher go yard for Butler. Butler played solid baseball once again.

A huge THANKS to the Richmond fateful who fed us all, after the game. The BBQ, potato salad, and fixings were fantastic! Good Luck with your season.

    East Rowan 3
    West Forsyth 1

Corbin Shive hits a tiebreaking two-run homerun in the bottom of the 8th to lift East Rowan to victory. Kent Basinger started the game for East and allowed a first inning run. The starter for West Forsyth did an outstanding job (can't remember his name) for them. Cody Laws earned the win in relief.

Mallard Creek lost today to East Gaston. 8 errors and many hits will lead to a bad day. Mikal hill had the only hit for the Mavericks. A homerun in the 4 inning.
