High School Game Scores

I was afraid this one was coming!

Freedom gets the win against a scrappy team, Bandys should hold their own in their conf. Alot of speed on the bases and great defense. Brooke Ellis hit a 2 run triple. Freedom left 6 runners stranded, could not put the hits together at the right time. Freedom has 8 seniors on the team , it should only get better.

Always enjoy playing Reagan. First class group of players, coaches, and parents, as well a a top notch facility.

 

I was at this game today. Reagan's bats were in full gear. Danielle Scales (Carolina Rattlers) went 3-4 at bat, with 4 RBI's; Kaitlyn Hamby, the little lefty slapper, went 2-4; and Sam Thorne put a couple deep in the outfield. Pitcher Sydney Martin (Attitude - Plemmons), racked up a couple of RBI's of her own, helping her own cause, and was a couple errors in the field short of pitching the closeout.

I agree with rams on Watauga errors. Tracking in the outfield proved costly to them.

Car crash provided an attention-focusing diversion for the game for a bit.

Butler vs North Meck

This game was 0-0 until the top of the 7th when Butler scored the first run on a ball that tipped the catchers glove. This was after NM felt that they had a called strike three to get out of the inning. The players were all looking at the umpire while the Bulter player stole 3rd. In the bottom of the 7th Sarah Mooney drove in the tying run with a shot off of the left center fence, then was thrown out sliding into second. 2 innings later butler score its second run with a ground ball up the middle.

Again NM came back in the bottom half of the inning when Sarah Mooney hit a solo homerun over the left center fence. The game remained tied for 4 more innings when butler recieved a one out walk, and a bloop single just into the grass behind 2ndbase.
The runners advanced on the sac bunt. With 2 strikes and no balls the Bulter player hit a pitch that was down and away off the end of her bat. The ball landed just outside the reach of the NM center fielder(Samantha Strahan). This allowed the runner from 3rd to score easily, the second Bulter run scored when the left fielder picked up the ball and threw it wildly into the infield.

In the bottom half of the 14th with one out NM meck recieved back to back singles from Sara Mooney and Carol Anne Sherrill. The 2nd out came from a strike out but the runners did move into scoring positing on a past ball. With two out Sara Allen hit a single to right field scoring Mooney, Sherrill was thrown out easily at the plate for the game winning 3rd out. Kudos to both teams, the fans, great game hate it that you missed it.

Loved to have seen that game, I bet that game was a nail bitter. Sounds like a College game. Good luck to both teams this year.
