How about a score and some details on the Rocky Mount/Wesleyan affair?

Stretchy, nice game yesterday. You were consistant. Good command of the game. I've seen you many times. You're a good umpire.

One Putt was correct in his assessment of Wesleyan Christian. Very good baseball team with no holes in the line-up. That was my first time seeing Logan Self, and he was outstanding. Campbell may have a hard time not using him as a two way guy. He pitched an outstanding game and is dangerous at the plate. Wil Myers and Tyler Hickernell also played great for WC, but they are boosted by the other guys in the line up also. All those boys do their job, and do it well. Rocky Mount has a similar team to WC in that they get help from seemingly anyone in the line-up. You expect Goodwin and Fish to produce, but RM has more than those two. We will be helped greatly by the addition of Hobbs Johnson, as was evidenced in the first two games. Yesterday it was soph. Thomas Berry who got it going with a backside 2rbi double, and Dillon Cockrell who banged in a run late to boost RM after we slopped around for 4 errors. Soph. Benton Moss picked up the win in what has become his MO.....give up a few hits, get a little behind in the count, come back and get out of a jam. When Benton starts to stay ahead of batters, his effectiveness will improve dramatically. This was a very good early season game for both teams which should help down the road.

Alex pitched a heckuva game against a team that can flat out hit the ball. But the most impressive thing about Alex was to see him streeeeeeetch out a triple. I was afraid that Bag's was going to call out the medics for oxygen.

Just kiddin' ya, Alex. I take a personal delight when pitchers are allowed to show who the real athletes are.

I have to admit i did not hear one complaint. That's unusual. He did make one call no one could figure out but he got some help on it and reversed the call. He handled it very well.

They are called Stretchy Rules---he makes them up as he goes along.

I will say this: Stretchy is not only a very experienced umpire, but he is one of, if not the best, umpire at knowing the rules.

Hey One putt what about the steal at the plate? Stretchy always handles things in stride and keeps the game moving. A trademark of excellent offical its about the kids and the game. What atmosphere the Providence -Rose game was intense you missed a great game one putt.
