Also last week North Johnston beat West Johnston 3-2.

By the way In case you're wondering, there is no East Johnston HS!!

WP- Dakota Icard (5 K's)/ #21( sorry don't know her name/ Holly Hudson?) for EB came in at the 6th (2 K's)
LP- Evanna Robinson (5 K's)

Ok- NC had 1 COACHING error in the top of the 7th. (our line up was different than the home team had, but we had played the whole game up to that point( wrong I guess?). Never the less great catch/ call by the East Burke coaches to end a rally by NC and notify the umps that what they had written down was different. We have 2 1st yr facualty coaches/teachers in the dugout. Even the local newspaper guy was surprised they waited until the top of the 7th down 1-0 with multiple runners on base to make a call. Hats off to them, great call that earned them a chance at a win.

Then the bottom half of the 7th. EB down to their last out, NC bobbles an easy ground ball between 1st and 2nd To allow the tieing run on 1st. Next pitch off the glove of the 3rd baseman into foul ground. Runners on 1st and 2nd, still 2 outs. Next batter for EB hits a shot to RF, the throw is made, the tag is made knocking down the runner......ump rules safe. LOL, the runner still hadn't made it to home plate yet as the catcher's foot is in front of the plate. Runners now on 2nd and 3rd, still 2 outs....tie ballgame. Next pitch fly ball to RF, another error on the missed ball...Congrats to East Burke on a hard fought victory!

NC is starting a very young team again with mostly Freshman and Soph. leadership. That's two games in a row losing by 1. Hat's off to Coach Kevin Berry on keeping us close.

Nice job by East Burke playing hard to the end!

Congrats to MP on a tough come from behind victory, Great game by Central Cabarrus freshman pitcher Mellena Helms only allowing three earned runs in seven innings, also went 2-3 including a monster three run homer in only her second career varsity at bat, also leading hitters for CC, Lindsey Brown 3-4, and Chelsea Hartsell 2-4, promising future for both teams i know CC only has one senior on their team.
