    my opinion

If I was coaching again and had a good chance at a Conf. Championship and a State Title, I wouldn't allow my players to play during my High School season.
Why don't you ask M. Sherrill what he thinks :whip:

One thing to think about is if you make them choose it may turn out like the west coasters most of them choose travel ball over high school

    SC has law in place?

I don't remember where I saw it, so I hesitate to post this. Someone please correct if need be. I think it is SC that has a state law on the books forbidding travel sports from interfering with high school sports. BUT, to paraphrase, if a girl is going to play, then the travel coach basically has to get permission from the high school coach, in writing, and has to promise not to interfere with the high school team. Seems like a workable solution in most cases. Doesn't mean they can't just that the coaches HAVE to talk. Of course, some school coaches will say no and that is certainly their option.

...ok, I see your point about pitchers throwing 2 or 3 games on Sunday, and then have a HS game on Monday.
    Thats a common sense issue.
If I were coaching HS, and had a couple or 3 TB players who were scheduled to play on a weekend, I'd go watch them!
When the HS playoffs roll around, I'd politely ask the TB coaches to respect the HS program.
I'll bet not ONE TB coach would have a problem with that.

Ricky Broome with the Southern Shock has been seen at high school softball fields cheering on his players. Even ones he drives close to 2 hours to get to. Great guy, wonderful coach. Sad thing is, I never could get the high school coach out to watch his team. Our new coach (Kevin Berry) has been to tournaments the last 5 or so years and encourages our kids to play.

I know a lot of high school coaches that should go watch during the summer to a) support their players b) keep up with their players, and who is improving, and c) they might learn a little something here and there. It wouldn't hurt to take in a clinic or two either!

It's fun to watch the players in high school, just don't like to see them against each other sometimes!
