    Woooooh There !!

That's a good one, must of the kids that play for those 2 schools started in travel ball way before the high school years, so I think it's the other way around. E.O.C........

It would be great if all HS coaches were like you. Excellent post.

Agreed. Good players already know how to play by the time they get to High School. HS coaches can put down TB all they want but most HS coaches just have to sit back and reap the benefits of what has been handed to them on a silver platter.

I haven't seen HS coaches putting down TB, it seems to be the other way around. yes a lot of HS coaches do reap the benefits of TB, but a lot of HS coaches work with the community from the time the kids first pick up a glove. I know AC and ND are two of the communities that do that.

I just know in those in two areas the kids goes to those HS coaches at an early age to learn the fundamentals of softball. So no I don't think it is E.O.C.....

sometimes what's on that "silver platter" is spoiled... has too much "me, me, me" in it. Screw the team! What's in it for me? The sad thing is it's not usually the kids that have this attitude in the beginning, it is infused into them by parents.

Don't like the HS coach? Don't play hs ball. Don't think DD is getting to play enough on a travel team? Go find a team where she can be the star! Better yet, start a new travel team and be the coach... Daddy Ball!!! Let a college coach find out that this is your background and you can kiss DD's chances of playing college ball goodbye. They don't want the baggage.

Don't listen to anyone that has already "been there, done that". How could they possibly know more than you do?

If you don't want the answers, don't ask the questions. As was said earlier, in a few years you'll know if you were right... or wrong.

    I Guarantee One Thing !!

I work just as hard as these coaches to make my girls better. I drive 100 miles one way to work with my kids every weekend, and treat all of them like daughters. You are the one that said that TB coaches reap what the HS coaches create. Hey we can both gain something out of this if we would just all work together--BOTH SIDES !!! You can't have a band w/o a drummer or plane w/o wings..just a thought !!:rock_band: Guru

i havent seen or heard of a hs coach putting down tb in seven or so years that i've been coaching hs ball. it wouldnt make sense to put an organization down that is continuing to teach your players the game, but i have had some complain about infringing on the hs season....

I tip my hat to you for doing that for your girls. It would be nice if all could play for TB coaches that are dedicated like you and for HS coaches that are dedicated like at AC/ND. Unfortunately at some schools coaches are just thrown out on the field who know nothing about the game.

Also when I said TB reaps from HS, I was referring to an earlier post where someone said HS has players handed to them from TB. I believe all need to work together for the benefit of the kid.

AC and ND are very lucky to have coaches with knowledge of the game. You are correct that many high schools have coaches with little or no knowledge of fastpitch and these are the programs that truly benefit from TB. It is unfortunate that these are usually the coaches with the egos that will not let them acknowledge that yes, they have had players handed to them from TB. I have seen many high school games and can easily pick out the players that have played travel ball so I stand by my statement that it is TB that has handed HS their players and not the other way around. Most TB coaches are willing to work with their HS. I have found that it is HS coaches that are not willing to work together for the benefit of the girl. The topic of this thread proves just that. The girl we are talking about is sitting on the bench for her HS team. Why can't the coach let her play TB without penalizing her next year in order to improve and eventually help his team. He is probably not putting a lot of time into helping her improve since she is not a starter so why not let someone else help her now and in turn she will help him next year.
