    SW4A Games (EM/SM)

East Meck and South Meck tried valiantly to get their game in. They finally stopped it with the Eagles coming to the plate in the bottom of the 4th and leading 3 to 1. Shealy on the mound for the Sabres and Trosch for the Eagles. By the 3rd inning the rain started to make it pretty difficult to play (not a good night to be a fly ball pitcher). As of last night, they planned to try to finish the game on Monday evening.

    Providence/Butler Suspended 1-0

    Going to top of 5.

Two hits a piece for each team. Tyler Zupcic has both of Providence's hits including a home run.

Tewell vs Shaffer on the bump.

Tewell strands a Panther runner on third with less than two outs in the second and fourth innings. Shaffer works out of bases loaded jams in the third and fourth.

Game schedule to resume at 5pm on Monday.

He pulls out the Mohawk during the summer!
Don't have any word if he is throwing tonight or not. At least, he hasn't told me if he is! We'll see!

Lou Trosch really looked good last night. Although Lou is not really considered a strikeout pitcher, he had a ton in a short period of time. You have to watch this kid many times to appreciate how effective he is. He is very smart and could actually pitch into a teacup. But the best part is he is an experienced SOPHOMORE. Lou will only get better---and that's scary!

I thought Joseph Shealy pitched very well, too, for the Sabres. Two things stood out for me watching South Meck:

    - Spencer Shuey should be banned from HS baseball. When this big strong kid hits a ball (and does so frequently), I'm actually afraid for the players on the other team. He is an incredibly gifted athlete (Spencer is going to Clemson on a football scholarship.) He is so much fun to watch!

    - Deuce Wright is the BEST 2010 catcher in the state---and has a bat to match. He will probably wait to decide where he is going by this summer, but if a school is in need of a catcher for 2010, you better contact quickly because he is receiving a lot of attention.

South Meck is clearly a very talented team, but you've got to love the East Meck Miracle boys---they will battle you and aren't intimidated. I hope they will maintain their intensity the rest of the season. If they do, they will find a treasure at the end.

Speaking of treasures and good luck pieces; Coach Chet Greeson has brought aboard a rabbit foot to his staff (just kidding, he wil be a fine addition.) Coach Steve Buchanan, father of ex-eagle Ben, has joined the staff and I know the players will love him. He is one of a kind and a very good friend. Welcome aboard, Steve!:bowdown2:
