Spot on. This will be a test for them. How they take the loss? What will they learn? Will they recover or slide? This is where pitching, hittting and fielding do not help. This is the mental side of the game.

I don't think we could have played worse if we tried. There's just no other way to say it. Base running blunders, couple of errors. Gave up 1 unearned run. We stranded 14 baserunners in 7 innings. Twice we had runners on 2nd and 3rd WITH NO OUTS and get nothing. NOTHING. However it was a total team loss. I had to go off by myself and start drinking.

Asheville is having a rough year record wise(1-8), but they've been competitive in almost every game. 6 of the 8 they've lost have been by less than 2 runs. We can't put together a game where we do well in all three phases of the game. Tonight against Enka, good pitching and defense but couldn't hit. Most of the other losses we hit the ball well enough to win, but couldn't get anybody out, either poor pitching or too many errors. Hopefully they'll keep their heads up and keep plugging away, things are bound to turn around soon.
