Legion verses Showcase, rotational hitting verses linear hitting, wood verses metal, hotdogs or pizza, popcorn verses peanuts, night games or day games, overhand or three quarter arm slot...

SOMETHING! With all this rain and the season just sputtering along, things are getting a bit boring here. Heck! Even the softball board has become a waste land!

If ncsu82 could get more Erin pics maybe we could all make it until the monsoons end!

How bout a "How worthless is the High School Baseball League" argument?

Legion vs Showcase? Sounds good. Where we playin'? A historic Legion venue or a money-eatin crispy complex?

There's always the Happy Birthday Braves thread for your enjoyment

I wonder what interest there would be for bragging rights in a Legion All Stars vs Showcase All Star tournament. I think that would be cool

How about talking about the advantages of top players going Division II versus Division I? The ability to grow with more playing time and great coaches.....and
keeping the love of the game versus glitz and glamour of Division I in some cases
without giving up playing in front of the scouts who can led them to the pros.

    okay, let's try this one...

in a twilight double header (necessary due to all the damn rain!), latter innings of the first game, a batter is facing a pitcher with a high 3/4 arm slot, who keeps the ball down and is changing speeds well. Is it better for the batter to be from the linear or rotational "school"? Would it be even more important if he was a transfer (got you covered Putt!) from a different school entirely?

Now, there are two scouts at the game. Scout 1, who also happens to coach a showcase team (that uses wood bats), has finished scarfing down a slice of pizza and is now munching on peanuts. Scout 2, is a driving force for the local Legion program and is in the process of spitting unpopped popcorn at Scout 1, before finagling a free hotdog from the concession stand, and is the local rep for a major metal bat manufacturer. Which of the two scouts is there to see the pitcher? Which is there to see the batter? Which is there to look at the good lookin' moms?

Now imagine that a huge picture, provided by ncsu82, of Erin Andrews was flashed simultaneously on the "batters eye" and the backstop. Who would be more likely to get a ball upside the head... the batter, from a pitched ball, or the the pitcher, from a line shot hit back up the middle? Also... what would be the percentage of husbands in the stands that would be "cut off" for at least a month after uttering "ooohh baby!" in the presence of their wives when the Erin pic is flashed?
