    Ardrey Kell VS South Meck

Kell won 9-0. Alex Wood Threw 6 strong innings, with 7-8 K's (guess). In the first inning South Meck's lead off hitter K'd but made it safely to first on a wild pitch. the next batter bunted him over and kell had a lapse in bunt coverage. Wood worked out of the jam, and was not in any other trouble. Ashton lover threw the 7th inning for kell allowing one hit, and getting one K.

For Ardrey Kell Brett Lang Homered, Reinheimer, Wood, Stetson had good games at the plate (Sorry, obviously not a real official book)

Joe Shealy started for South and Jeff Barkly threw the last three.

Tench, Gebhardt, had hits for South (there were others, Sorry I don't have their names.

Alex Wood threw a terrific game as usual! SM's defense made Alex's evening a whole lot easier than it should!

Brett Lang has to be one of the better 2011's with the stick in is hands. His HR over the left field wall was a bullet! Brett gets his athletic ability from his Mom, ........ right Larry? Congrats Brett!

Some people like to hear a team "chatter". I think high school is a time to learn that's not the best way to play the game. If you do that at the higher levels you better be ready for some chin music. You may have to dislodge the ball from your earhole.

    AK vs SM

I watched this game last night. Alex Wood was dominant. Got to be the best left hander, if not overall pitcher, in the state. SM bats couldn't touch him until he tired a bit, and lost a little velocity in his last inning or so. Shealy started for SM and threw well through 4 innings, giving up only one earned run. SM' s defense continues to struggle. Contrary to the box score in today Charlotte Observer, South committed 9 errors-this is not a typo-9 errors.

I was going to leave this alone, but since someone else mentioned it, here it goes. Not only was the screeching and chatter from the dugout during the game against Weddington constant, but it continued in every at bat our team had even at a time when they were up by 10 or more runs. I felt like I was at a little league game with 10 year olds singing in the dugout. At minimum, I would have been having a conversation with my kid about it at the end of the game because I would have been embarrased for him.

If all of the noise making wasn't bad enough, it totally crossed the line of disrespect when, with men on 1st and 2nd Providence lays down a good bunt, good enought to get the sacrifice accomplished. The on deck hitter yells out 3rd! 3rd! contraray to our catcher yelling 1st confusing the player causing all to be safe. Did not impact the score over all, but that had to be the most bush league stunt I have witnessed in HS baseball. Especially coming from a kid who can flat out play the game and should let his talking come from that alone.

    Butler 2 Weddington 1

Very well pitched game with few hits. I don't have the pitchers name for Butler, but he was mixing it up great all night keeping our hitters off balance with a great breaking ball.
Peter Hendel threw for Weddington limiting Butler to only 1 run in the 1st and 1 run in the 6th. Weddington just couldn't get the bats going for him. Only 5 hits.
Tyler Tewell in relief in the 6th closed it out.

    Yelverton 1-3
    Trescher 1-3 double
    Honeycutt 1-3
    Collins 1-3 RBI double

For Butler this is all I remember--- Catcher 10 any help here?
    Tewell 1-3 double
    Fincher 2-2 walk
    others?

Great game to watch, great atmosphere, great fans, and NO RAIN.

Call the batter out and send the runners back....

This can and should be called interference by the Umpire as per the rule book!!!

    Make Up Games

East Meck is at Myers Park tonight, though they move it to EM if MP's field can't handle the rain.
